In early Victorian times it would depend on what class you were. The lower classes had privies and chamber pots at home, but when out and about they would pee in alleys and street gutters. Upper classes would use their chamber pots at home and would mainly visit places that had a proper latrine, and I imagine that they were more motivated to hold their bladders until they found one. They would not pee in public!

I agree. The video didn't mention that there are two types of sphincter muscles, the involuntary ones that stay closed without conscious thought until signaled to open, and the voluntary ones that you can consciously clench to hold in the urine when the involuntary ones have started to relax. There is also some type of valve between the prostate and the bladder that is supposed to close off the urethra when fully aroused to prevent semen from being ejaculated into the bladder. That's why some men can't pee when hard, and also why for some of us, masturbation helps to hold pee longer.

That's pretty much the perfect "accident"! You had the experience of holding an urgent piss and stayed dry in public, then had your wetting experience at home.

This kind of holding experience excites me. I've done it a few times in the past, perhaps not walking quite as far or drinking quite as much, but it provides a clear, real-life goal. You really have to hold it until you get home! You had the popular doorstep desperation, with wet pants before you got to the toilet. (I've done that, too.) I appreciate that your account doesn't exaggerate as some do.

Years ago, a college friend shared an apartment with five other guys, and the bathroom rule was that you only closed the door when you were pooping. Otherwise the door was to be left open.

I've pee in a bottle in the car but never on the seats or floor. Pee smell is hard to get rid of.

I had a similar procedure except it was done by laser, and because it greatly improved my rate of flow, the stream is more predictable. Previously, my weak stream was easily misdirected and I sometimes dribbled on the floor or on my pants, but now it shoots straight out. Your guy needs to have a chat with his surgeon to see why the results have not been satisfactory.

I wouldn't enjoy the cleanup afterwards. However, I have peed in a juice bottle while driving.

If you pee in the same spot too often and kill the grass, you can blame it on the dogs.

Not many men can pee a strong stream for so long. It must be way over a liter.

Of course there should be more public rest rooms publicly supported. Considering the millions of tax dollars that are spent on things that are not necessities, keeping rest rooms clean and supplied would not be that costly. This is especially critical for women's facilities, since men's needs can be more basic, and it's also necessary to have facilities wherever there is a concentration of the homeless. When young adults are out visiting bars and partying, women are more likely to note where the toilets are and to use them when they have the chance. Men in the 18 to 25 range often don't plan as well, and they're more likely to hold it until they really have to pee and then look for a toilet (or other alternative). And beer isn't easy to hold for any length of time. So in a college town you'll see more men than women peeing outdoors.

The sink requires less water than a toilet to rinse out after pissing, so it's the "green" choice. It's also the best place to piss quietly, so if you're on the phone you can do it without being heard. For most of us it's at just the right height.

I suspect that your male friends know they have to pee at an earlier time and don't verbalize it, and they hold it until it gets too urgent to ignore.

We have many videos here of men pissing in a variety of places. I think anyone who uses a urinal (especially without "modesty panels") should expect that someone might peek and should not be offended. If peeking annoys you, use a stall.

I think that holding at work is surprisingly common, though for several different reasons. But you carried it to an extreme, even holding during a shower! (I wouldn't be able to do that.) A good report.

Being an old guy myself, I know some of the problems old guys have in holding their pee. Prostate issues are the most common problem, so they don't entirely empty their bladders and have to go again soon. An enlarged prostate also sends false "got to pee" signals. When they have to pee it can get urgent very quickly. Yeah, I know all about old guys and peeing. :-)

Peeing in the shower is more or less automatic with me, so I understand when you say your bladder "just let go.". You might have held longer if you had showered later.

The cleanup can involve a lot of rubbing with a towel.....
