Kirby23 960
Long-time reader, first-time poster. I have a handful of topics that I'll post about eventually, but I thought this might be a good one to begin with. I apologize if this topic has already been covered, but I've searched and didn't find much about it. I am curious as to what would be considered commonly accepted behavior or "etiquette" for relieving one's bladder, while relaxing in a hot tub, especially in mixed company. For example, let's say two couples (2 men + 2 women) are in an outdoor hot tub. Drinks are free-flowing. Someone needs to pee. How is it dealt with? Is it considered "acceptable" to exit the hot tub, pee in the grass, and re-enter? Does the pee-er need to go indoors to the bathroom? For a woman, is is ok (common even) to hang rear-end over the edge of the tub, pee, and get back in? Are people in this situation peeing in the tub? Does gender influence it? For example, if it is 4 female friends, would they be a little more likely to pee "openly" versus trying to be discreet about it? Are "ground rules" sometimes set? For example "Please don't pee in the tub. If you have to pee, please go indoors, or behind the shed." I have some experiences on this topic to share, but I would be interested to hear others' input first. 2 Link to post
BGSB86 848
First of all, welcome! As for your question, I guess it really depends on the circumstances for me. I once got invited to a party hosted by my coworkers (all males) with a hot tub. Gender definitely influences it for me. As close as I am with them, I wouldn’t want to pee where they can see me. I mean, I have had accidents in their view before, but never exposed myself. For me, I would have to get out and go inside to the bathroom. Contrast to some of my close female friends where I am comfortable hanging off the edge and peeing. One thing I am curious about is peeing inside the hot tub itself. I’ve never done it, but since the water is warm and foamy would people even notice if you peed in it? 1 Link to post
Popular Post Bacardi 10,140
I've peed in a hot tub before with people in it 🤷🏽♀️ I'd expect everyone else to do the same if I was in it with them too lol. I've never been shy about peeing in pools. Especially since you're more relaxed in a hot tub it's easier to just pee. 1 3 3 Link to post

Popular Post gldenwetgoose 21,520
Well, I guess every case would be different - and if there's rules explained up front then great - like if the host tells everyone not to walk through the house wet, but suggests just going behind the garage for example. But if nothing is declared then I guess there are three possible scenarios when you're in the tub with others - depending how well you all know each other and maybe how much drink has been flowing... 1) As you're sitting there desperate, and maybe you've already wee'd in the water. Then someone else declares they need to pee, gets out and goes into the house. It becomes apparent it's one of those 'prim' groups where everyone is going to go to pee in private and only in the bathroom. So that leaves you wondering if anyone will notice if you don't pee. Do they know you, have they seen that you've drank a lot but not been to the bathroom? You could always excuse yourself and go into the house pretending to pee, when in actual fact nobody knows that you've already enjoyed a clear well hydrated release into the water. 2) Again you're sitting there waiting for someone to declare their need, waiting for a sign of what etiquette they are following - and that sign never comes. If everyone stays in the tub, drinking, laughing, enjoying themselves and nobody ever goes, then the law of averages says you can't be the only one who needed a pee. As 'one of us' you may be more attuned to the subtle signs, a look of concentration, relief, maybe a nervous glance around or even a blush. If nobody else is leaving then why should you? 3) The party where people hang over the edge to pee on the grass or squat by a shed or bush - well that's the kind of party I'd like to go to... and as they say, if you can't beat them then join them. 2 1 3 Link to post

thisguy20 937
I'm very much of the opinion that if you are in water (pool, ocean, lake, hot tub, etc) you pee in the water. 2 Link to post

The instructions that came with mine say that you should re-sanitize the water with chlorine every two hours if the tub is in constant use. I guess from that, that they are assuming everyone is peeing in the water, but they rather coyly use "sweat" as the excuse for the need to sanitize. 1 Link to post
Popular Post Kirby23 960
Great replies so far! These pretty much confirm some of what I'd suspected. Does anyone's real life experiences confirm (or refute) any of these scenarios? For example, have you been in a hot tub in mixed company when someone said "I have to pee!"? And if so, how did they do it? How about when you and your spouse / significant other are the only ones in the tub? Does that change the etiquette? My wife and I have a small (inflatable) hot tub that we use about once/week. A few times when I've had to pee, I just stand up, pee out of the hot tub (into the grass/mulch beside the tub), and sit back down in the tub. My wife hasn't peed (that I know of) when we've been using the tub. If she had to, I suspect she would get out, pee in the grass (through her swimsuit) and get back in. My wife goes to hot tub parties with her female friends/co-workers once in a while. Wine and drinks flow freely. I have asked her how the women pee, and she said she doesn't really know. The hot tub at the host's house is a bit of a distance from the house, and she hasn't noticed anyone leaving the hot tub to go inside. She suspects they're either peeing in the water, or peeing in the grass (through their swimsuits) when they exit the tub to get a drink. That's how she has done it (she admitted) - just pee down her legs while she's walking to the cooler to get a drink. I asked her "Might someone notice?" And she said "No, it was dark out, no one would notice." 3 7 Link to post
Bill Thane 365
At the one hot tub party I've been to, almost everyone went inside to use the washroom (or perhaps peed in the pool, but at least a few people went inside). One guy did go out to the lawn to pee into the bushes, but that was seen as kind of weird, considering how easy it was to go in to the washroom. Link to post

I have a hot tub and, seeing I'm the one who has to clean it out, I'd prefer they get out and pee on the deck. It takes the better part of a day to drain and refill one, then adjust the chemistry. The only time I ever pee in mine is when I'm changing the water out. 2 Link to post

Now I'm laughing because I imagine a lady walking up to a hot tub full of people, only to nonchalantly hover over it and blast the tub and its inhabitants. Not a bad image, actually... I was 100 percent in the hot tub when I peed in it, but that image was really funny 🤣 Next time I get a little tipsy I'll be sure to walk up to a group of people in a hot tub and pee from the side. I'll say it's an experiment and I needed their reactions! 1 2 1 Link to post
Ms. Tito 2,402
Off topic for a second, but do people usually soak in hot tubs while naked? Is that why hot tubs at hotels or public pools are 18+? Link to post

I have some naturist friends who live nearby and they have a hot tub and they wouldn't dream of using it any other way. I'm seeing them this weekend actually. Looking forward to some naked tub time. I won't be peeing in the tub though. 3 1 Link to post

I dimly remember something about how the 18+ limit is because a hot tub is, properly, kept very hot, and if you sit in one for too long you can get ill from your core body temperature going up. Kids, being smaller, will warm up faster, and 18+ is a boring excessive bright-line rule. Or maybe adults don’t want excitable kids bouncing around making noise and splashing the water (which everyone has peed in) in everyone’s eyes. In short, everyone’s covering their asses. 3 Link to post
Popular Post Aristona 127
Coincidentally, we recently passed a holiday home with a wood-fired hot tub in the garden. The garden was large and the hot tub was a long way from the house. My girlfriend said: ooh what a nice hot tub I want that too. In the evening I asked her if we were in such a hot tub what we would do if we had to pee (she knows about my kink) she said: 'Just over the edge or in the grass next to the hot tub I don't care '. We have a 10-year-old daughter, but we also pee in front of her. Last night we were walking back from the Halloween Fair downtown and I had to pee all the time, my girlfriend said 'Just go pee somewhere, if I was a man I would have hung him out somewhere'. 2 blocks from our house I couldn't take it anymore and went to pee in an alley, my daughter thought it was funny. Is there a topic about how parents do that with kids around? We are not asocial or rude but we are fine with a pee in the dark in public. Whether camping or in the woods. A few weeks ago we were in the woods when our daughter had to pee and my friend helped her and she peed all over her hands haha, we laughed about it. So we are very open about it 1 4 Link to post
PissOnMyParade 447
I think it very much depends on the company you're with. if you're with a bunch of people who you know are pee fetishists and don't have a problem with you peeing around them, then that's great but if you're in company who you're not sure how comfortable they are around it, it may be best to exit and come back. Having said that, because of all the foamand bubbles, it's unlikely to be noticeable to anyone else anyway if you just pee right there, provided you're nonchalant about it. 1 Link to post

I guess there are various topics, for example the one below - although it seems more a collection of people's own experiences rather than a help manual, if you see what I mean. https://peefans.com/topic/18182-peeing-infront-of-family-members/ There are also various threads around outdoor activities, peeing by the pool and that sort of thing where people discuss where and how they have / would pee other than in a toilet. Also threads around children being allowed to pee freely away from bathrooms. Of course the nature of the site means that many of these are kink related. In the case of your question, it wasn't so much a case of peeing to satisfy the kink but the need to pee as an adult whilst being conscious of children about. I'd suggest posting as a question - it's a good question and a good topic for discussion in it's own thread. (Folks - let's keep this thread on the hot tub topic). Link to post

Thanks for the link I had read a few things in that topic yes I will open a topic about it soon, it's more the combination of kink and children how do other parents do that. 😆 Now ontopic again: as can be read in my previous comment, we would just pee next to the hot tub or over the edge 😜 Edited October 29, 2021 by Aristona 1 Link to post

1badboy 582
If it's a private hot tub, and you're with your girlfriend, AND alcohol is involved -- then you have the perfect excuse! The most important thing to remember about hot tubs, and pools, is that they have chlorine in the water. And chlorine has a way of 'drying' out a woman's natural lubrication. Have you ever heard of the "No oils in the hot tub!" rule? Some people try using 'lubrication'. Just don't have sex in a hot tub, or a pool! 1 Link to post
Popular Post ukpeegirl86 3,032
I think for me I’d just pee in the water and say nothing, but at a party with a hot tub I attended a while back people went into the house to pee until the drinks had been flowing at which point one of the guys peed up the side of the garage. littlebladder 74
I've not been in a hot tub many times and when I have it's been with my family and we have all peed in the toilet before we got in. Wouldn't it get smelly if multiple people peed in it? It's chlorinated but there's a lot less water than in a swimming pool so it'll be more concentrated I'd have thought? Link to post
