I've never tried to deal with this and it is the biggest reason why I don't pee on carpets in my house. I think it depends a lot on what flooring you have. My fear is that the pee will go through the carpet, into the underlay and then the floor beneath. The options for peeing are many and varied and partly depend on what you are wearing and how wet you are likely to get (without the peeing aspect). I think that as long as it looks like you've made an effort to find somewhere discrete and you had not a lot of choice, most women are not offended or too upset. The reaction is usually somewhere between ignoring you completely through, pretending to ignore you but having a subtle look to not hiding the fact that they are looking.
