I had chicken pox as a kid. I think kids are vaccinated against it today, but back then it was considered normal. It was even considered desirable to catch it as a kid cos then you'd be immune to it again for life and also immune to the adult variant called Shingles, which amongst other things was known to be a cause of impotence.

@Scot_Lover, are you yourself and your lady safe? Are there any forests near you? What is happening down there is terrible and apparently on an unprecedented scale. I suspect it is one of a number of global signs of warming and climate change.

With us guys who stand and aim...well let's just say the aim gets very unpredictable and messy when we are drunk. Twould be safer to sit down and pee, only problem is then we'd be sitting on all the pee on the seat which previous drunken guys have caused. So standing up and adding to the alcohol induced mess is sadly inevitable. Happy new year to all anyway. I guess I was lucky. Born and raised in the southwest peninsular of England with many dozens of good beaches all within an hours drive. I spent many a happy childhood day on the beach jumping over the waves and sometimes being bowled over by them. I love waves.

The next one along is Mars. Then Mercury before you get to tiny Pluto which is no longer regarded as a full planet anymore.

Perhaps keep some pepper spray handy in case some other low grade turd fancies his chances? Our heart goes out to you after such a terrifying situation and I think I speak for all of us.
