Ooh - one other practical consideration: it would be more difficult when I get up in the night to tell if the lid was up or down. That might result in a wetter floor than I want at 2am.

Fascinating. I think I would like one, but I wonder about its practical longevity; it probably wouldn't remain pristine for very long (at least not in our very hard water area). Fun though! I agree with Sophie - more fun to watch others using it, unless you're standing a way back from it and peeing from a distance and can watch the affect on the water (observing the fluid dynamics 🙂).

Ooh ... Japan! Sounds amazing 🙂 I spend about 3 days in a hotel at the convention complex by the airport once. I could see Fuji from my hotel window (just!), I wish I could have explored more, given how long it too to get there. End of the first week in Jan, and 7.7 miles towards my 35 mile run target. Only one strength / mobility session done though. It's a start, but I need to up my game. The good news is that the run just now felt significantly better than the one on New Year's Day 🙂

Whoopi Goldberg clearly needs lessons from our own @Eliminature 🙂. (Incidentally, does anyone know whether Eli is OK? I haven't heard from her for a while.)
