While most of the guys back in High School and even Middle School swim team pissed in the locker changing area, I can't recall any of the coaches ever seeing them do so nor commenting on it. The coaches just weren't in the locker rooms. Now in college their are coaches and assistants walking around all the time and I was curious as to what they would say about it. As it began as all freshmen this first semester, all of us were new and a bit unsure of what was accepted. In time one of the guys asked to run into the locker room as we were all standing on the pool deck watching and commenting on our teammates dive performances a male coach suggested that he "just go" where he was instead. In time the guys, myself include started to pee around the locker room and the coaches most certainly noticed and didn't care. Now we're all doing so and even our one female coach has seen me do so and commented, "oh you're fine, don't be neurotic about it, nothing wrong with taking a piss."  A while ago my mom was really trying to normalize nudity and peeing in places other than restrooms, as she realized that I was quite timid about it. She would tell stories of her growing up with her dad and brothers and later with boyfriends as well as my dad, trying to convince me it was all normal. She also told me that when her father was in a Catholic High School the guys all swam nude and they even had competitions in the nude. I find that so bizarre that it was that way here in America back in the 50's and 60's, we think that we are so progressive these days, but maybe not so much. It's cool how open your coach was, my mom was telling me the same kinda thing, but if I'd actually seen coaches doing so, I'd have been so much more comfortable doing so back in the day, cause we'd know it was fine. After all these years of swimming, I'm just now becoming at ease with peeing wherever.
