Popular Post Mary Moon 1,696
Today i wanted to do a test on the capacity of my mini bladder with the measuring cup, since i had nothing to do: i tried to resist for almost 3 hours (which for me is a lot), until i realized that i was having an accident, then i peed into a container, my bladder contains that just under 270 milliliters. On wikipedia it says that an adult woman should reach 800 milliliters. Mine basically fills up to a third of the full capacity it should have. 4 2 2 Link to post
DoctorDoctor 1,311
Smaller than average listed in the medical literature, but not terribly small. I think Wikipedia's 800 ml is above average for men and women. Already done, unfortunately congenital defect there is little i can do about it. In the end, if i regularly go to the bathroom every two hours i have no problems. However, by now I've gotten used to accidents, i always have a change of clothes with me 2 2 1 Link to post

I agree that 800 ml is above average, at least above average for a healthy amount to pee at once. It's quite possible that the average bladder can hold that much before the urine begins to leak, but I don't think that the average person can hold that much comfortably, and while occasionally getting that full won't cause problems, if you regularly get to 800 ml then either your bladder is unusually large, or you are putting an unhealthy amount of strain on your bladder that might cause problems in the long run. I've seen some sources saying that regularly holding more than 500 ml is an unhealthy habit. Many sources say that the urge to pee starts at 200-300 ml and then increases until the capacity is reached. It's not proportional--the bladder is kind of "shriveled" when empty and expands to a certain size quite easily, after which point the pressure increases much more steeply with each additional volume. For me that rapid increase is reached somewhere around 500 ml, such that 600 feels quite different from 500, and 700 feels quite different again. Whereas in the 200 to 300 range I can tell there's something in there if I'm paying attention but it's not like I'm noticing much change. I'm pretty sure on some particularly bursting pees I've reached 800, or close to it (I've certainly broken 750, on one occasion when I measured it) but it's certainly not common to let it go that long. gldenwetgoose 21,154
@Mary Moon - obviously my 'plumbing' is different as a guy. But for me, 300-500ml is my normal level after I've held for a while. On occasions I have managed more, but it's rare and means me pushing to extremes. Either way, 800ml definitely isn't normal for me either. So I'd echo the view, everybody is a unique and special individual, we all have our strengths and our lesser abilities. I know you hate the implications and effects of your condition - but there is nobody here who sees it as embarrassing or any sort of weakness. 1 Link to post
Kupar 13,250
Hi Mary. If it's any consolation then my measuring of bladder capacity during a 'normal' (i.e., no attempt to hold at any point) week might be if interest. My wife and I did it just out of curiosity. And when I did this, the 'normal' capacity I found was 400-600ml, so somewhat lower than the 800ml you found. In any event it sounds like you are trying to accept how things are, and you know how to deal with it. Sending hugs. 1 1 Link to post
Mary Moon 1,696
In practice, for me those 270 milliliters are like 700 of a normal bladder. When i reached that amount i was very desperate, i was just moments away from the accident. My bladder is really small. In fact my accidents are never so excessively copious because the amount of pee I pee is the same 2 1 Link to post
InOddPlaces 297
Male here 🙂 Normal peeing is up to 500ml. 700ml is the point I feel a stronger need to go, but if I hold it (normally by being distracted by something non-pee/sexual) I can get over a litre before reaching the point of needing to go NOW! Largest measured is 1200ml which I achieved during some pee play, masturbating with a vibrator so the arousal overrode the need to pee until I reached the point that it came out regardless. Foobar 764
AI tells me the average is 500ml for women and 700ml for men. Seems to differ on whether the urge starts at ⅓ or ½ full. In an ultrasound I (male) was recorded for just over 600ml (pre void minus post void), though I probably could have held more. Link to post

That's where what we feel can differ significantly from the reality of bladder size - feeling the need to pee can be VERY different from how full it is. I've had situations both ends of the scale. Sometimes I've felt the urge to go NOW, only to have a dribble (probably <150ml) come out. Other times I've been in the 600+ area and only felt a slight urge. A couple of memorable ones happened whilst I was driving on a long journey, being aware of a slight build up but didn't think it was much so kept going, but an hour later suddenly getting the "NOW" feeling and wetting slightly as I got out the vehicle (and realising how full I was), peeing close to a litre. 1 Link to post

Evidently this is close to my maximum capacity I haven’t measured that often but average “need a pee” is between 200-300ml, most I’ve measured is about 500ml. When you are desperate what’s your normal flow like? Like a strong hiss but empty quickly or a slower trickle? Personally I’d love to have pee fun with someone that has a smaller bladder, it fills quicker and you have more pee’s and fun 😉 Link to post
Dawsonsmallbladder 14
My absolute limit is 750 milliliters, I first feel the need to pee at around 200 milliliters and after 500 milliliters the urge increases at a greater rate. Edited May 24 by Dawsonsmallbladder 1 Link to post
sumrexus 82
I think age needs to be taken into consideration, for boys and girls.. At 30 I could hold about 700mls, at 60 + I'm pretty desperate at 400! Link to post

I am incontinent for this very reason: basically my bladder lags behind in growth compared to the rest of my body and recovers slowly. Now my body is that of a 20 year old while my bladder is that of a child. That's why i need to empty it more often than normal and i have accidents. Fortunately my bladder is slowly improving now. As a teenager i wet the bed several times in a week and had many daytime accidents 1 1 1 Link to post
IdoPiddleSome2 10
I've had to warn Nurses (even in Urology sometimes) my Playful, Easily-amused Bladder can hide as much as 800. I can take the Cup into the typical "Jack-&-Jill" potty-room with the miniature Sally-port; make my contribution (with-or-without vocal theater*), then finish "emptying" (to best of my knowledge), & return to the Exam-room to which I'd been assigned ("... am I in 8?"). 1 way or another, it's discovered my perceptions of having "emptied" were a wee bit premature & exaggerated; missed it by 500--800. I'm blessed that none seemed to believe I was doing that on purpose! *"...Better performance, better economy & that Signature FloMax Sound!" (or maybe a verse of "The Birthday Dirge" [which I may have made up] while washing my hands) I have Bladder-Cancer surgery approaching (some have warned me it takes GUTS), so I don't know what my new Bladder's capacity will be or how it may learn to behave. Oh... "Happy Birtday [unh], Happy Birthday [unh], Caesar's bust is on the shelf, And you're looking pale, yourself, On your Birthday!" (stole a bit of that from a poem IIRC). Best regards, all. 1 Link to post

WillAndSarah 196
Sarah here, So my bladder is not particularly big. Have never measured it, but I just can tell you right now, compared to some of the porn I've seen of women who can pee 1L+... yeah, I can just tell you for sure, that's not me. What I CAN do though, is pee a lot. I can drink, say 2L of water in a short amount of time, and then my bladder will fill and empty like 3 or 4 times off of that. That's a little uncomfortable, though; more often I'll just hydrate continuously during sex, it's definitely a turn-on for him because he knows what's coming his way! lol. Either way it adds up to seriously a LOT of pee. More than enough for me to feel totally confident and dominant with my ever-thirsty hubby. So just because you might have a bladder that's on the smallish side, that doesn't mean you can't piss like a racehorse. If anything, all it means is that you'll spread it out more over time, which has its own sort of appeal to it I think. It doesn't mean you can't still be somebody's pee goddess. Doesn't mean you're not beautiful and sexy. Please PM us if you'd like to hear more about just how sexy you can be / probably already are, even if you do have a small bladder. I know Will would be really encouraging to you too. ❤️ Edited June 5 by WillAndSarah 3 1 Link to post
Overlord 433
I think the capacity of the human bladder is very vague, maybe even indefinable. I'm an adult human male and I can feel the need to go pee for an amount of maybe 200 ml. Then I'm standing there and just a few gusts come out and I think to myself, what the fuck? But I noticed it depends on what you drink, where you drink and in what situations you're in. For example coffee is very diuretic to me. I can't take a lot of that. Also beer goes through me like a waterfall. What goes in, quickly comes out again. But then also, If I'm home near my toilet I can't hold it for long like I do sometimes when I'm out with friends or driving. Maybe it's just to not annoy anybody? But my receptors seem to go mild and can take it for longer. But then when I'm home again, I need to piss like a racehorse. The most I recorded was about 1,2 liter (My cup run out after 1 lt. so it's a guess but there was a good amout after that) in one session and I wasn't even that uncomfortable. So how can that be? Sometimes I'm ready with 200ml, then I can hold it till 1,2 lt. with not a lot of pain. It seems to be very situational and what you drink. 2 1 Link to post
Overlord 433
1 minute ago, KP-has2P said: Well, it’s a stretchy organ like a balloon, so it expands as it fills. So its capacity is somewhat variable, but there would be an absolute maximum it can hold before it can’t stretch any further, but chances are you’ll have wet yourself long before then, or rushed to a toilet. Practical capacity is how much it can hold before you’re desperate or wetting yourself, and that seems to depend on what you’re drinking (and thus how fast your kidneys are filling the tank), time of day, if you’re near a toilet or not, etc. Like, overnight your bladder tends to not signal as urgently the need to pee so you aren’t waking up every 2-4 hours to pee, so you are quite full when you get out of bed but may not be as desperate as you might be after having some coffee or caffeinated cola, or beer. I find, if I really hold it too long, I can’t empty it fully on the first try, as it gets stretched out and it takes time for it to fully unstretch. I have to go back in 10 minutes and pee again. You are absolutely right. What fascinates me is how is it possible to get such different indications from the same organ all along? This has to be something mental. Link to post
peefan1000 139
Male and my own capacity is right around 1000ml, usually if I'm doing a hold it's a bit less 800-1000ml. few times I swear i exceeded these volumes but a las they were not measured. Of course I am into females particularly that can pee insane amounts so if anyone has experiences to share on that front, I'm all ears 1 Link to post
Mary Moon 1,696
For example, my girlfriend doesn't go to the bathroom very often, she has a very large bladder and it happened that maybe we came home after many hours out in the evening and where we had also drunk at the pub and as we got home she started watching TV and he didn't go to the bathroom straight away, but maybe he went after an hour. In fact when she goes to the bathroom she takes super long pees 1 1 Link to post
