If you missed any, check them, they are very short, this new one is some kind of turning point. It's like the conclusion of the first phase, when characters were introduced and things happened to enter the very story. From now on, the plot will begin to unfold, and quick and scary things will begin to happen. This is not gonna be a simple fictional installment, this is a novel published here in chapters, it got a plot and such a plot will start to manifest. I never posted two chapters in a single week so don't expect 8th part too soon, I won't be late, it won't take weeks obviously, but I need a bit to craft it properly Meanwhile have fun with this I sincerely consider it my best chapter insofar, its infos are written after some contacts between me and some online scientists friends who are also curious about the Loch Ness mystery... Even at those latitudes, summer was marvellous and mighty. Kay, Scot, Gwen and Nancy were gathered on the edge of the docks of the little harbour. The owner of the Riastrad took it away and now only the old dear Scath na Deithe and its rugged captain existed as an alternative to Lars and his big and arrogant Stargazer. And yet, it seemed that the little boat was pulled aground for yearly reparations, leaving the big bad ship as the only queen of the Loch. They strived to look away. They were all marveled when a taxi reached them, letting out engine noises. There were no taxi in the little Drumnadrochit, thus that man should have serenely paid for a ride starting from Inverness to say the least. Whoever was in that car, was rich to say the least. They all remained silent as an elder, very elegant man, came out from the vehicle. He was dressed in a traditional gaelish suit with a kilt made from the purest of wool. He was old, very old, and yet he walked with the pride of an ancient nobleman. When he reached them, he made a brief stooping toward the other four, then he stood up and pierced them with an angry glance, until they all returned the bowing. A big and satisfied smile appeared on his face, and he came onward. When he finally met them, Kay shook his hand politely, and then introduced him to the group: “Pals, this is Sir Anton Locksley, one of the greatest scientists who ever studied the Nessie hypothesys”. Nancy was curious of him from the beginning: she did not exceedingly appreciated his attitude of superiority, on the other hand she was fascinated. That kilt alone should have costed a year’s average salary. Also, she had to relieve her bladder, but she immediately understood that such a man would have never allowed such a behaviour, and resorted to hold it for as long as possible. They headed for the only pub in the nearbies, where the actually-a-nobleman ordered a beer and absolutely cared not about offering something to his public, sitting very educatedly on a chair and yet emanating the idea of the pub belonging to him, and just left for utilization to the actual owner. “Kaily attended a graduation curriculum under a friend of mine at College, so we met and she decided that my involvement with the Nessie hypothesys was the only thing she was to remember about me”. His voice tone was between affectionate and condescent, always with a hint of superiority. “Anyway, since I am here, we can face the subject, as I will soon have a boat to take back to Inverness. You wanted to know my theories and discoveries. The first thing you must know is that the theory of underground tunnels connecting the Loch to the Sea is simply unreal. I am not saying it’s proved they do not exist, but positively they would have allowed a progressive transformation of the water Ph over millions of years. I know that many scientists claim that such a transformation would be reversed and impaired by the substances present in the black waters of the Loch, but my studies confirm that the negative pression of salt water over sweet one would anyway overcome the chemical barrier, and turn the Loch into a very different place, were they to exist”. At those words, Nancy, which found them painfully true, felt like she was witnessing the executioner axe rising over her head. Her heart missed a beat, and all of a sudden everything felt ridiculous and pointless. “Yet…” he continued after a pause, and she felt like life was blooming anew in her body and soul, “…you must know that the first witnessing of the creature, in 565 a.D, did not take place in the Loch”. She lifted an eyebrow, fascinated. “San Columba, that introduced Christian religion to the Highlands, clearly detailed an encounter with a strange creature, which he describes as a commixtion between a small whale, and a serpent, while such a creature was swimming in the River Ness”. A moment of silence, during which Nancy was spirited away by the implications of that revelation, then he continued: “He said that the creature attacked a fisherman and tried to steal the very fishes from his net, but, legends say, San Columba drove the monster off with a prayer, which impressed the witnesses and convinced them to convert to the newly rising Christian faith”. Another moment of heavy silence. “According to many fossils, Elasmosaurs were used to swim against current in short, slow and deep rivers, reaching secluded sweetwater lakes to reproduce. But since their DNA shows traits in common with modern creatures that rely mainly on echo-location and sound-processing apparatus, they were likely bothered by strong sounds, or diffused average noises”. Nancy could not resist anymore and made her intervention: “You mean…” she stopped immediately at his bad glance, “…Sir…”, now he was smiling satisfiedly, “…that Nessie simply gave up going up Ness River because of increasing human presence?”. He smiled approvingly: “Elasmosaurus can spawn serenely in saltwater too, near coasts, they just needed lack of exceedingly concentrated salt, or strong currents. Never forget that the first North European description of dragons are from Norway, where they became popular as snake-like creatures, but were originally described as creatures of size, habits, and shape, identical to an Elasmosaurus. It’s true that these creatures did not like exceedingly cold water, but the Gulf Stream is of very ancient origin and influences exactly the sections of sea between the north of Scotland and the south of Norway”. Nancy could not contain her enthusiasm, nor her pee. She was so happy she could have pissed there and then. Sir Anton Locksley rose up from his chair, and uttered his final words: “In addition to this, some students made a discovery about something that you youngsters could find interesting, but which is of no interest to me. One of them took his explorations to the extremes and claimed to have discovered something. So I contacted him and invited him to join your group, for further explorations”. And that said, with a new stooping, he headed for the moor and soon disappeared from their sight. “We’ll have a fifth companion?” asked Gwen to Kay, while Nancy was controlling her bladder in the most painful way possible, but the greatest pain came from Kay’s answer: “Third companion”. I have been to Loch Ness and it is a very beautiful and special place. I am sincerely convinced a small group of Elasmosaurus survived and adapted to the modern ocean, and RARELY got back in the Loch to reproduce, but currently living only in the sea, not big enough to stir sonars, nor in such numbers to draw attentions. I am serenely open to the chance I may be wrong as Nessie is not part of my Path beliefs and is just a personal exploration... Unbent, she stood up, letting her dress fall back in place, and defied his glance. By her side, Gwen was still angry: “So it was you!” she shouted, “…and through all these months you always insulted me!”. Nancy was fascinated, Gwen was known to have a mild character, but this time she looked really angry! Lars smiled again, sardonic and beautiful: “I never insulted you belief in Nessie, Mimi. The only belief of yours I insulted, was your convincement that you could have been able to accomplish anything in life, without my help”. The red haired girl could not believe her ears: did he really said what she tought he said?! Gwen was red hot, and growled at him: “You never gave my a chance”. In return, he smiled once again, evily: “Oh, but I did! It’s not my fault if you were… mediocre…”. Nancy felt like she was at a showdown in a western movie, and words were their bullets. So she addressed him, stading by her friend: “I have no enmity against you as you never did anything against me, thus I cannot simply reply in Gwen’s place…” the taller girl looked at her friend, and Lars too focused on Nancy, “…yet I can tell you a thing: every man and every woman is a Star” The invisible implications of those words echoed in the air between them… an ancient call whose subtle meanings went much beyond the visible, and transcended in the roots of that land… “In every woman…” Nancy went on, “…there is a slut. If she doesn’t bring it out… it’s just because her man didn’t turn her on enough”. Gwen and her grinned, and Lars was now in inferiority. It was obvious that he was looking for something to say in reply, but was cornered. He exhaled loudly and whispered: “Truce?”. Both girls nodded. The red haired was observing her taller friend very carefully: she was anxious, buti t wasn’t simpe anger… was it possible that, after all of that, Gwen was still harbouring feelings for him?! “Come on, speak” she almost ordered, but he smiled back at her. The two ladies unvoluntarily smiled at the memory of the enormous piss they took on its deck just a week before… Lars noticed it, and lifted an eyebrow, and he wasn’t able to guess the reason of such a smile, yet was bothered by the sudden loss of his position of psychological dominance, as a boastful boy little can against the shared secrets two girls smile about… To take the lead back, he insisted: “Let’s get on board, and we will talk”. Reluctantly, the two followed him. When they finally were on the main deck, Lars shouted something at the small crew of three persons, two men and a girl, to put the engines to work and start navigating the Loch. Wind was now blowing gently among the two girls’ hair, and in the distance birds were emitting their verses. Summer was blooming around them, and yet, an indescribable sensation was gripping them and surging from an invisible source all around them… like they were in the grip of some unseen force… The girl from the crew brought them three cocktails, and Nancy, who always hated those whining women that would see sexism everywhere, couldn’t help to feel a distinct sensation of condescendence in Lars’ decision to appoint her for such a role. He looked behind his back to be sure the crew was all busy and far from them, then brought up a very small suitcase with a combination lock. He made the four rings to spin until they formed a number the two girls could not see, and then upper half opened with a distinct clack! That sound was the definitive hit at the girl poor bladders. Thos drinks were definitely alcoholic! Nancy witnessed Gwen in deep discomfort and whispered something to her ear… and then she found her courage. She was still angry at Lars and hated to show vulnerability, but settled down to ask: “I need the restroom” In the moment of silence that followed, broken only by the deep noise of the engines, Nancy added: “Me too” Lars smiled viciously, and sardonically explained: “The toilet is being fixed. Chemicals had been used and it won’t been available for at least another three to four hours” The two girls were horrified, but he went on: “How could I knew you would have needed it so soon?” Paradoxically, he seemed sincere, or at least more careless rather than actually plotting an accident for the two ladies. Nancy wasted no time; she popped a squat there and then, and was about to start pissing, when Lars yelled at her: “NOT on my deck!!!” She got up, cutting the upcoming stream, and fought back: “You prevented us from the toilet and now you even want to decide where I piss?
