I think I'd heard of Imelda May before I spent time Googling her last night. You know they keep saying 'Guys, it's good to talk' in terms of encouraging that men's mental health is important, and guys need to communicate their worries and fears? That it's ok for guys to show emotions... Let's just say, that's been in my mind for a few days. That balancing act between silent voices telling me other people have much bigger problems, there's nothing in the scale of things for me to be complaining at, just 'man up' and get on with it. That and the louder inner voice telling that attitude is self destructive and that I have friends just waiting to help. That and I can do this... Anyway, last night's movie choice (a great choice by my wife) was the dramatisation of the true life Fisherman's Friends. Tears were shed, and it helped. The main reason for watching it was as a reminder before watching the more recent Fisherman's Friends 2 where more tears were shed. This morning I know all is well. I feel stronger, able to be strong and able to be back up there for my friends. Oh, and Imelda May - this performance and song is nothing to do with any of that, other than she's got a key part in the second movie, as an Irish ex-rock chick (almost playing herself)...
