LovesToWet 3,803
43 miles yesterday in glorious weather, not a bad first ride of my new machine. I'm gonna enjoy putting some miles on it as it is a very nice comfortable ride. 2 Link to post

harry_jones_1975 604
So my local running day has only just been announced for this year and I genuinely fear there isn't enough time between now and then to get Marathon fit. 2 Link to post
harry_jones_1975 604
PS have only run 26.18km all year Link to post
Kupar 13,341
@harry_jones_1975 Sounds like a big decision needs to be made. Maybe a half this time? Gives a sense of achievement but is easier to get ready for. Whatever you decide, good luck with the training. And if it's any consolation, I've not managed much this year either so far. 1 Link to post
LovesToWet 3,803
I've been struggle to fit running in too. I was planning on a half this year but that's out of the window now 2 Link to post
LovesToWet 3,803
Finally managed a run this morning, not far or too fast as its been a while just happy to be out 1 1 Link to post
LovesToWet 3,803
42 miles in the bag this morning on some nice quiet flat roads. This is the start to my training for a charity ride I am planning to do next year... And it's gonna be a big one! 1 1 Link to post
James_erased 1,795
I got Hackey Half marathon also in the tank this morning - was too warm and legs weren't recovered enough after last weekend to challenge for a PB, but I had a great time out there in the sunshine regardless! And a beauty of a medal for it, too. On a peeing side note, I was surprised at the lack of people I saw wild pissing given how busy it was and how few portaloos there appeared to be! A handful of guys albeit somewhat brazenly pissing in the bushes, but that was about it. I now have my third Half in as many weeks this upcoming Saturday.. what was I thinking when booking all these? 🤣 3 Link to post

LovesToWet 3,803
Raining again on my ride, what a surprise! I didn't get the miles in I wanted too but at least I still got out so I shouldn't complain too much. Onwards on upwards. Sadly I'm still finding it difficult to find the time to run but fingers crossed that changes soon. 1 Link to post
harry_jones_1975 604
Cycled 5 miles from a railway station to a friend's house last night and it nearly killed me. They had hills there and I mainly only cycle on the flat here. 2 Link to post
Sophie 24,412
If anyone saw a crazy blonde woman on a bike singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" at the top of her lungs and screaming "Wheeeee" when going down a hill... ... Hi, I'm Sophie! Nice to meet you. 🤣 I'm usually extremely shy but I have the odd occasion where I am absolutely LOVING being on the bike and the weirdness begins to leak out. 4 Link to post

Sophie 24,412
I'm about to go for my first group ride in a while. Me, another girl and four guys. To say I am nervous is an understatement! I've ridden with this people before so I don't know why I am so scared! 3 Link to post

LovesToWet 3,803
Finally past the half century which wasn't easy in this wind but it was great to do it. Almost felt like my old self so I'm happy. 1 1 Link to post
LovesToWet 3,803
I had a fantastic ride at the weekend, 60 miles. I haven't ridden that far for years. Felt really strong the whole ride. 2 Link to post

LovesToWet 3,803
Seems a little bit quite on this thread so I though I would say what I've been up to.... Which has mainly been biking. I set myself a goal of 3000 miles this year (which is my average) and considering I've only done a few half centuries and 1 60 mile ride, I am not far off my target. If I manage to keep commuting a few days per week as well as my usual Sunday ride, I think I will end the year between 3500 & 4000 miles. How are you guys getting on? 1 Link to post

Well done on your great biking efforts! All is quiet here ... I haven't run for ages as I have been too busy with various house-moving and decorating stuff, and work. And bike rides haven't happened for me either. However, I am hoping that from October things will be easier. 1 Link to post
harry_jones_1975 604
I went 135 days without running. So very quiet. Pleased to report was back on it Monday even if I spent 10 minutes running in absolute horror at my inability to go quicker than a 10 minute km before realising it was still set to miles from cycling to a beer festival in June and I was doing alright. Did stop halfway around to film a quick naked running peeing video then panicked as the miles off tractor sound got very close oops. 1 1 Link to post
