  1. I HAVE EVOLVED! NOT MANY OF YOU HERE HAVE, SADLY!
  2. I can't even believe we're having this discussion here in 2019. Do you people believe in blood letting for illness too? How about the idea that tomatoes are poisonous? Folks believed that too, once upon a time. Walking under a ladder will bring you bad luck? How 'bout that one? Jeez! Oh, and let's not forget about cats sucking the breath out of babies, leaving them dead in their cribs. C'mon people! I'm so disappointed that one person in particular struck me as a scientific fellow, only to learn he's among the dumb. I swear, if/when I see that someone here believes in vampires..
  3. When we played at Henry Ford's house, my then wife, the singer, agreed with me when I said that I could feel comfy there. But, at Meadow Brook Hall, it's another story. It's beautiful, but feels so huge, like a hotel. My fave room there was a small smoking parlor at the top of the stairs on the 2nd floor. It's about a 16 x 16 foot room and real cozy. I told her, "This is where I'd hang out. I'd have my Miller Lite, my smokes, my music, and just chill in this little room." LOL! She agreed. One must feel "at home." And, some of these places, as impressive as they are, wouldn't feel
  4. It doesn't look like a mansion. I'd call it a castle! Am I right? LOL!
  5. I have no idea, Speedy. It was old and in disrepair when he bought it. He had to put a lot of money into it fixing it up. I gotta believe it's much larger than any of the Michigan homes I've shown here. I cannot find any stats on square feet or the number of rooms. But, it seems much larger to me than any of the U.S. auto moguls' mansions. I'd bet it is considerably larger!
  6. Now, let's really switch gears! Here's a pic of the late Beatle George Harrison's castle. His widow, Olivia, still lives there. I love it! It's in England. He only paid $2 million for it in 1970! Can you believe that? It sits on several acres of land too. Beautiful!
  7. When I had my band, we did a gig at Henry Ford's house. We also had one booked at Meadow Brook Hall! But, sadly, it got cancelled at the last minute. The bride and groom called off the wedding. Damn! I was so looking forward to playing my drums there! Oh well...
  8. And, can you imagine the gas and electric bills? I don't believe any of them have A/C. The ceilings are so high that all the heat rises way up. I've been to 2 of them on hot summer days and it didn't feel bad inside at all.
  9. @speedy3471 I stand corrected. The Dodge Car Co. was owned by brothers Horace and John Dodge. It was John's widow, Matilda, who built the aforementioned 88,000 sq. ft. mansion. It's called Meadow Brook Hall. I've been there many times. It won't fit in any pic. What you see is a fraction of it. It's the second largest home in the USA. 110 rooms, 88,000 square feet! Here's a pic: Then, Horace's widow, Anna, built a mansion after his death called Rose Terrace, also here in Michigan. It was 42,000 sq. ft. It was torn down in 1976. Here's a pic of that house:
  10. The funny thing is that Ford could have built a much larger, more expensive house. Matilda Dodge, widow of John Dodge, remarried and built a home here in Michigan that makes Ford's mansion look like a cottage. It's 88,000 square feet and has over 100 rooms! So, you could say that Ford was quite frugal when he built his house. Ford's is 31,000 square feet and has 65 rooms. I think once you get to a certain size, it just becomes ridiculous. His is plenty large and fancy enough for most wealthy people.
  11. That might be your problem. I've used Firefox exclusively since 2008 and haven't had any malware whatsoever since I started using it. It's the best browser from all that I've read. But, I'm using Firefox 60.0.2. I used to do all the updates and I'd get the new versions right away too. But, it got so ridiculous as they have updates daily or weekly and a whole new version so often. It's not needed. I'll keep using my version for maybe a couple more years before I switch. I found that sometimes the updates and/or new versions cause new problems that I didn't have before. It's just a thou
  12. Thank you, F.W! Finally someone here has sense! Your point is a valid one. The reason you don't see thousands of ghosts is because they don't exist. Neither does anything else in the paranormal realm, including spirits, ESP, or aliens in spacecraft. I'd include gods in the list too. It's all bunk!
  13. According to one inflation checking site, it would cost $99,498,217.82 to build the mansion today.
  14. Some humans seem to be hard-wired to believe in superstition. So, in a way, our species hasn't evolved beyond the stone age.
  15. I'd love to go too! Tulips are so beautiful. I gotta believe that someone here at Pee Fans has been to this event. We have folks from all over the world here! 😉 Do you know what's more beautiful than roses on a piano? Tulips on an organ! 🤣
  16. Whether it's good or bad, great legs are something that a woman is born with. It's in the genes. No amount of exercise or anything can make them. It's not like hair, makeup, or anything. It's the shape of the bones and muscles. Sure, heels and hose do enhance their appearance, but one must have them to begin with. One thing I have noticed over the many years that I've studied women's legs is this. Asian women, in terms of percentages, seem to have the best legs in the world. However, they tend to have butts that are not full or round. So, it's a trade off. Sometime, take notice.
  17. I don't believe in ghosts, ESP, psychics, fortune tellers, or anything paranormal. I live in the real world and believe in science. Many so-called psychics have been exposed as frauds. They're just con artists that steal people's money and give them false hope. The last time I checked there was no scientific evidence to support anything in the paranormal. James Randi and Skeptic Magazine are great sources for revealing the truth on this topic.
  18. The festival runs from late March to mid-May (2019 dates: 21st March – 19th May 2019) and depending on when you visit you’ll see different flowers in bloom. The festival is located south of Amsterdam in the small town of Lisse. It seems wonderful! Has anyone here ever been to this event? 😉
  19. The Thin White Duke at his very best! A true live recording, no overdubs, the real deal!
  20. The best term for having to pee that I've ever heard is one that my grandpa used to say. He was a cockney and would say, "I have to go flick the dew off my lily!" My mom would get so annoyed. LOL! But, as a kid, it always made me giggle like crazy! Ah, fond memories. 🙂
  21. Windows 10, but I liked Windows XP much better. My old laptop died after 13 years so I had to buy a new one. It came with Windows 10.
  22. I realize that it's now spring in the northern hemisphere, but here's one last beautiful winter photo!
  23. @speedy3471 Patton also said, "I love war!" Plus, he truly believed that he was a warrior in a prior ancient life. 🤪 But, he did get results! I'll give him that. He was just a bit of a kook according to those who knew him well. LOL!
  24. My favorite proverb is: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, but today...is a gift, which is why it's called The Present!"
  25. I'd turn down the chance to time travel. It would be the perfect time to remember the old adage, "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it." I believe the present moment is all that really matters.
