    I've thought about this too, as diapers / nappies aren't really my thing. And I have to say that I'm with several of the people who have commented here: it's much more about the person and much less about the fetish. In fact, we all have funny things we do that irritate or amuse partners. They can be immediately obvious (maybe piercings, tattoos, hairstyles, dress sense, ways of talking) or become discovered quite quickly (political views, music taste, interests etc) or only become apparent after some time (never emptying the bins or doing the wahsing up, being really good - or bad - at cooking, being creative in bed etc). When you think of all those things, the diaper fetish is no big deal ... certainly wouldn't be for me if the person was otherwise sweet and lovely and made me happy 🙂

    When is it a private fetish or just a normal preferance to pee in other places?

    I reckon you're right there. It's possible that if something is 'forbidden' for whatever reason - societal norms, law, parental disapproval etc - it's much more likely to have a powerful attraction, even to the point of fetish. Outdoor peeing would be a good example. Another is seeing or hearing some others pee in a basic way (by which I mean, on the toilet): for some that's a powerful fetish, but as I mentioned a little way up this thread, because it has never been a big deal within my family (either when I was a child or since I have married and had children), it isn't a particular turn on its own right on for me.

    This is an interesting thing, isn't it? My son and wife can carry on playing after making a mistake, as if nothing had happened, without losing the rhythm; my daughter and I are sufficiently affected by making a mistake that we stutter. I think there's something about how our brains work differently. [Sorry, a bit off topic ...]

And I can already tell you (a) her bladder is bigger than mine, (b) my bladder is on the small side of normal range, (c) we drink more and pee more at the weekend. It's quite a faff recording the intake and output, but now I've started ...  Also, it excludes liquids such as milk on breakfast cereal, and the time for intake is the time I finish (so if I nurse a pint for half an hour, it's recorded as the end of the half-hour). But you're free to do what you want - of course!
