Wordsworth, eat your heart out. Lol

I have to admit, I never loved him to the extreme

I love his style but after a while, his verses lose power

One of my greatest embarass is that I adore Poetry, but love very few poetries

I focus mainly on verses based on powerful social and personal pain

Never been a big fan of poetry, but curiously - after five years of hell in my personal life following the conjuring of some evil entity via a Ouija board - in desperation I consulted a friend who had a book of spells, one of which was designed to rid you of malign influences.

These were written almost as poetry, and you were supposed to visualise what you were reading as it conjured beautiful imagery of sunsets, mountains, streams, lakes, rainbows, clouds, mist, and various things. I found reading this to be beautiful, and the imagery invoked touched my heart deeply. Is this how you should always read poetry?

Incidentally, as a spell it seemed to work, whether because it invoked my own inner spiritual strength or whatever. Because I felt a weight lifting from my shoulders that I'd never even noticed was there, and a wave of elation and happiness come over me. I sensed the power of something other that was good and not bad. The bad times pretty much ceased and my life began it's slow upward ascent from that point.

So I believe in the power of such things and have done for a very long time now.

Me? Because I have kind of been an, albeit open-minded, follower of yours for some time now.

Ehm?

No no, I was talking about myself, sorry for the misunderstanding

After last week a complete new level has surfaced

Haha, I understand. Sorry, for someone who can be so perceptive sometimes I can still have my obtuse moments.

2 of my favorite sayings:

”Treat others how you would want to be treated.”

”You must be the change you want to see in the world.”

Those 2 quotes are why I always try to be as kind as I can to others, and remain completely honest with others as I wouldn’t want to be treated any other way.  Also, I would hope any of those actions might influence how someone else acts and behaves so the world could be a better place.

This quote of the German clergyman Martin Niemoller shouts out the need for all persecuted people to stand united. Together we are strong, divided we are weak. Which is why all bad governments everywhere seek to divide and rule.....

"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out -

because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out -

because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -

because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak for me."

There is indeed a powerful lesson in those words.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

In other words, don't go around being all judgemental about others or you might be judged and found wanting yourself.

Another example of good solid advice

Haha yeah I think this quote has two meanings first don't be judgemental unless You want people to do the same and also that if You have made a lot of mistakes then don't point out the mistakes of others. If You are a thief and steal from others then don't criticize another thief because You are also a thief.

Great interpretation

This one is a bit dangerous if you are a man.

If I treated women the way I would like them to treat me,  I would get locked up for sexual harassment.

Gosh,  I seem to be fated to be a devil's advocate today.

I also have problems with this one.

I happen to be a very fat person.  I mean, serious morbid obesity,  the kind that hurts your back and makes it difficult to walk.  You could probably say that I am an "expert" in how bad it feels to be overweight.

Now,  if I say to someone: "don't overeat and get fat. It makes you ill and ruins your life,"  I frequently run into responses like "don't be such a hypocrite",  or "but you are fat,  what would you know?", or even "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."

When someone gives you a fact, an opinion or any piece of information, what they say should stand on its own merits.  Maybe it's right, maybe it's wrong,  but that right or wrong does not depend on if they are fat or thin,  woman or man, black or white.

To illustrate,  here's another quote.  I can't remember who said it:

"The biggest fool in the world can tell you the sun is shining,  but that doesn't make it dark outside."

Some very well made points.

What you are saying when you tell people not to overeat and get fat cos it ruins your life though - the unspoken bit - is "otherwise you'll be like me". If people were to perceive it in that way they would not see it as a glass houses situation but as a using yourself as an example and a warning situation. Clearly not everyone you have said this to is intelligent enough to figure that out.

There is though a natural reaction against being told what to do by someone. This is especially true if the person on sight appears to have done it themselves, though morbid obesity can often have medical issues causing it too. Their natural response would be to call you a hypocrite or whatever. In many ways it is a reaction against being told what to do by anyone.

But essentially when someone criticises you for something they do themselves or criticises you for being something they are themselves, that at it's core is blatant hypocrisy and invites the glass houses comment. Even if the criticisms are factually accurate.

I go even further: I state that if a law or a morality point messes up with that idea, that law or morality point is wrong

In Witchcraft, we state that when a thing is Balanced, it is RIGHT even if it is perceived as wrong

I want to be feared for my intensity and headlong devotion, loved for my love toward Others, followed for my loyalty toward the cause of teaching Others to need no Teachers, and stepped on unless I live up to my best

I treat Others accordingly

Love those who love

Help those who are nasty

Forgive those who are evil

Destroy motherfuckers

Witches consider, for example, the right of an advanced alien to eat us, and at the same time a right of humans to fight back and see who wins

Our honesty borders mercilessness, first of all toward ourselves

It's in our DNA to fight back. Even the meekest, mildest human being has a inner monster that will surface when said individual is pushed to far
