Nobody's stopping you being into it - we're just telling you this isn't the place for it.   It's explained in the site rules and also here.

It's very similar to the example that when you walk into a clothes store they sell clothes.  If instead you want to buy shoes you need to visit a shoe store.  The clue is in the name, and our site is called Peefans.

Can we have at least some type of trivial spam protection? I'm not even that active but so many times I see some bot is spamming the same sketchy link on every single thread.

I dare say there is some level of spam protection, but the pesky spammers keep finding ways around it

I know @Admin has done what's possible.  For example, in response to the xstrip-ers it's now a thing that new members need to enter something in the Favourite Thing and Hottest Experience fields.  Along with having a valid email address etc.

The current spammers are a nuisance, they meet the entry criteria and then they rapidly hit all over the site - maybe 50 spam posts in an hour.  But the good news is that one staff click of the spam button on their profile and their every post vanishes.   Quick and easy.

I guess there are other measures that could be put in place if the problem got worse - maybe anybody can register to view the site using the current mechanism, but a member of staff would need to validate their profile to allow two way site interaction ?   But given the nature of our kink, I can imagine that could deter a lot of genuine users from wanting to go through that rigmarole.

I was thinking along the lines of ratelimiting the number of times per hour a specific user can post links, particularly new users (or less than a certain rep)

Of course, I don't know anything about what you have to work with so it's just guesswork.

That's a good point @Admin - and could potentially deter, or at least slow, the occasional new members who make five trivial posts so they can start banging out the DMs - if they're limited to lest that five posts before a timeout kicks in.  Maybe.

You have a spammer now flooding the site with a dating site

While on the topic of spammers, Is there a way to report a user rather than just certain posts?

Thanks @MC Cumzy

Just quote a post or message from them and explain in the field what it is you feel needs reporting about that member.

Note that in the case of ‘I think this may be a man pretending to be a young lady’ or ‘this person seems very young’ then there isn’t always much we can do.  But we definitely treat every report seriously.
