Her part 6

[Riley 13,064]

    I sat in math class staring at the clock. The second hand seemed to move slower and slower as the whitewashed room and white fluorescent lights became more and more familiar. I just had a few minutes to wait, just 5 more minutes. I tried to take notes while my teacher explained formulas on the board but my mind wandered elsewhere. 
    3 minutes. the clock hand and that ticking sound seemed to almost stand still, moving at an unbearable slow speed. "Maybe my teacher will end class early?" I thought to myself but also knew that my teacher never did that and that I probably was going to have to stay. 
    I looked down, making sure nothing major had gone wrong with my jeans and sweater, just making sure I looked ok. I wrote a few more things down on my paper trying to catch up after kind of losing focus but also had no idea what it was that I was writing down. "It's ok, I can just ask Emily later" I thought to myself, smiling and blushing a little, thinking of sitting next to her on the couch.
    "And I think we are about out of time, " My professor said and everyone quickly got out of their seats to leave. 
    "Have a good day!," I said to him before I left trying to make up for all the times i have half fallen asleep in that class. I walked into the hallway, and quickly walked to the outside door, feeling the air get slightly colder as I approached it. The fluorescent lights slowly were replaced with sunlight until I opened the door and greeted the outside world once again. 
    The air was slightly colder as the morning sun shone in the bright blue sky. The trees gently waved in the breeze with their weaves chattering as the wind slid across them. The whirring of cars driving past slowly got louder as I walked towards the parking lot outside the English building, the parking lot where-
    "Emma!" a voice said from somewhere ahead of me. I looked around until the reflection of red hair reflected back at me and I saw Emily waving at me, trying to get my attention. She was quickly walking towards me trying not to get run over as she entered the asphalt parking lot. I felt my cheeks blush from even just her saying my name. She was wearing just a simple slightly over-sized long sleeve shirt and black leggings but she seemed like a goddess to me.
    As she got close I couldn't contain myself and ran up to hug her. Just to be able to feel her warmth and just be next to her, made me feel better. "Its only been a few hours," Emily said laughing a little.
    "Im sorry, i just, missed you" I told her as the hug naturally ended and I looked at the ground to try and hide how red I was.
    "Are you ready to go?" Emily said with a smile and I jumped into the drivers seat, nervous but ready. 
    "Emily just wants to go skating, it will be fun, there's nothing to be nervous about, just enjoy yourself, don't worry about," I told myself slowly backing out of the parking space as cars tried to pass behind me. 
    "So how does skating work?" Emily asked, "Like, is it just a walking motion or like how do you do it?" 
    "Don't worry I'll teach you," I told her with a smile, "Its kind of hard to explain so Ill just try to show you when you get there but I promise you will enjoy it!" I said hoping I would actually be able to teach well and do this well.
    "Oh, Don't worry about that, everything with you always ends up being fun"

    The skating rink parking lot was almost completely empty. As always, im the only one that likes to skate on weekday mornings. I grabbed my skates and showed Emily into the ice arena. Sure enough, it was completely empty, except for Daniel, who was just doing some work while no one was there. 
    "Emma!," Daniel exclaimed, obviously happy that someone was there. "Who is this?" he asked a little curious since i pretty much always came alone.
    "Good morning!, sorry, this is Emily, she just needs to rent a pair of skates if thats ok" I said a little nervously.
    He suddenly had this like look of realization wash over his face and he excitedly said, "Is this is the girl you always talk about from college?"
    I felt my face burning and couldn't even bring myself to look at Emily when Daniel interjected saying, "don't worry, just come into the back with me and well find skates for you."
    "Im going to go warm-up." I said trying to act natural but starting to get even more nervous.
    As I stepped onto the ice, I felt my muscle memory start to return to me. I started to just skate around a little bit to warm up my muscles thinking of things to teach Emily and try to stressed. All I could think about was how much I wanted her to like ice skating, how much I wanted to ice skate with her.     
    I skated a little faster felling like I was flying across the ice, the feeling of flying returning to me. Slowly gaining my confidence. I brought one of my feet off the ice and turned backwards using my other foot to propel me off the side of my blade and into the air to feel the sensation of flying through the air, no longer limited by gravity, until I felt my blade hit the ice once more and I slowly came to a stop.
    "Your amazing!" Said Emily who without me noticing had stepped into the rink and was firmly gripping the wall for balance.
    I smiled and blushed and skated over to help teach her to skate. She started take her first few steps and stumbled almost falling onto the ice. I showed her how to put her feet into a turnout and push herself forward while keeping both skates on the ground for balance. She started trying to push away from the wall and when she started to loose her balance she grabbed my hand and was able to recover. 
    I felt like I could stay like this forever. Her excitement to slowly get away from the wall and skate holding my hand, stumbling but still feeling the feeling of gliding. Her red hair flowing gently when we went faster and a very light wind hit our faces. Her laugh, her everything. She was just amazing. 
    I felt this sense of just happiness fill myself whenever I saw her. She seemed to illuminate the world around her in a way I had never seen before. It was.... beautiful.

    When she started to get tired we decided that we should probably go before any of us hurt ourselves and we walked out, me still hoping she would still enjoy ice skating. 
    We started driving to her place since it was close and we were both quite hungry. We just kind of small talked and listened to music for the very short journey home. The sun was starting to get into the afternoon leaving a golden glow over everything. I noticed that she was avoiding the topic of ice skating a little bit and was a little bit worried but she also didn't seem mad or sad at all, she seemed if anything, really happy.
    As we got out of the car I reached into the back and pulled out my ice skates while she hurried to the door and went ahead of me. I didn't know quite why but just assumed she was cold and didn't really think much of it. I walked up the steps to her flat's door and walked through closing it behind me as she was taking her shoes off and before I could even fully turn back around. I saw her almost leap towards me and felt her lips touch mine.
    I had so many questions, but my body just exploded with happiness. I couldn't help but return the kiss and just feel.... amazing.
    "You looked so beautiful on the ice and off the ice and just, I want to show you how much I appreciate you." She said with almost a sparkle in her eyes. "Your an amazing person and I just want every moment I spend with you to last forever".

 

Sorry if there's a lot of awkward moments and mistakes in this chapter. I ran out of time to write it and still post it today and so its not edited at all. I really hope its still ok and readable but I really apologize for all the mistakes. I hope everyone has an amazing day!

First thing btw, im sorry the formatting got all screwed up when i went from my computer to pasting it here. Second, I promise i will still have peeing and more intimate elements to the story but I wanted to also involve other parts to hopefully make a better story in the end. As always, feedback is super helpful for me and helps me make my writing better 🙂

thank you so much! You should! It really does feel like flying, it can seem daunting at first but if you work on your balance it gets a lot more enjoyable and feels incredible 🙂

It's definitly a lot more artistic and less physical compared to hockey but you might like it?
