  1. It's been a great pleasure having you around and I hope you'll be back before too long. Good luck with your studies. What are you planning to study by the way?
  2. Hi and welcome, Julie. I hope you have a great time here and look forward to seeing you around.
  3. Hi and welcome. I hope you have a great time here.
  4. I've never visited the great US of A but, whilst Mr Trump's in the running for the presidency, I'll reserve judgement.
  5. Thanks for sharing, May he rest in peace and rise in glory!
  6. (This is the latest in a series of stories which I'm posting on here and also sharing elsewhere. I hope you enjoy it if you've not already come across it. The term 'neet' is shorthand for a young adult not in education, employment or training.) It was the last period on a Wednesday afternoon and also the last day of college term. Anne Glenson sat at her desk and quietly completed some paperwork whilst Tom Braithwaite, her last remaining student, put the finishing touches to the drawing he was working on. Nineteen years old, he'd eschewed the opportunities available to study Art at both G
  7. Thanks wsvoyeur. I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope you will the further chapters too.
  8. Yes that'a pretty fair demonstration of recycling!
  9. There's an element of truth in that. The urine of a healthy person is sterile. However as you say, once it's sat in the air for a while, it attracts bacteria and becomes something less pleasant.
  10. I was a member for a while but came to the conclusion that it was basically a waste of time. If my memory serves me it was part of a wider dating platform (white label I think) and it usually directed me to people who (a) were from other sites and (b) had no interest in pee. Accordingly I gave it up.
  11. Hi and welcome, Bulldog1974. It's good to see God's own county represented.
  12. Hi and welcome, Jay. I hope you have a great time.
  13. Steve I hope you're right and I wish I shared your optimism.
  14. Thanks. I'm for 'commonsense Brexit' - ending our formal membership of the European Union whilst still being very much a part of Europe and continuing to trade with it. A sensible policy on immigration is part of that. We need to welcome those who have legitimate reasons to be in the United Kingdom whilst having the power to remove them swiftly - and without interminable legal argument - if they choose to abuse our hospitality. We also need to extend a special welcome to those with specialist skills which are in short supply.
  15. Sorry but I won't be signing the petition. I happen to think that Theresa May is a good Prime Minister and has the best interests of her country at heart as, indeed, did her late predecessor. A General Election at this stage would simply be a distraction and a side show. If the polls are to be believed, all it would achieve would be to rob Labour of a hundred seats and increase the Government's majority. We have a sufficiently weak and fragmented opposition as it is without weakening it further. Possibly the only good thing that might come out of such a scenario is that it might finally c
  16. I've known several US presidential elections in the past but I don't honestly think I can recall one where the fighting has been quite so dirty. What depresses me is that it's likely to get worse before it gets better. Mr Trump's recent ill judged comments re the bereaved mother of a marine won't have done him any good at all. I'm hoping sincerely that he manages to make further dents in the public support that there appears to be for him. Put simply, I don't want him in the White House. I very much doubt whether many of our American members do either.
  17. Hi and welcome. I hope you have a great time here.
  18. Watering the lily, draining in the main vein (or lizard) and checking the plumbing are all expressions I've come across.
