While it is most certainly easier and less messy for guys to pee in public, they certainly can be more exposed and obvious when doing so. The thing is that society has come to accept this and the site of men pissing in public isn't a shock to anyone. I suppose women are less likely to get into trouble for doing so, but that shouldn't really stop men from doing as they always have.

I think it's so much easier for moms to open up with their girls and for their girls to then be relaxed about doing so around their moms. With boys I think there's a bit more hesitancy for moms to be open with them and thus boys tend to assume their moms would object to them peeing outside the bathroom. The truth said, many moms are quite open minded about it.

It's that way with my boys and I, they never have to be hesitant around me, they know I'm not going to judge them.

I'm not one to push people to do anything, so I much prefer for others to just do as they feel okay with in a way that they feel is normal. For me, making a mess on a floor that I have to then clean isn't fun, but perhaps on a locker room floor, a store dressing room, hotel room or even a basement or parking garage floor would be normal to me.

You don't really have to tell her, just be more open about it as others have said. Pee in the back yard when you're outside, tell her you need to step into an alley for a moment when you're in the city, these are places where most moms rather expect boys to piss.

Nothing to be scared about, back a few years ago abc did an investigative story on Hotel rooms and all 20 of the rooms they investigated ( 1 star to 5 star hotels) had urine stains revealed with black light, throughout the carpets and on the walls. A housekeeper recently told us, "it's not a problem at all, you wouldn't believe how common it is, have fun."

Not sure about the bed, it's not so easy to get out of mattresses, but I know from experience that no one has ever cared about us pissing on the carpet or walls.

Never any criticism here, but if you're looking for an atta-boy from the ladies you'll need to man up and spray it out all over the stairs as opposed to a few drops on a step.

You need to encourage them more often. Most boys want to pee in public, but are for some reason of the opinion their moms would object to them doing so. Allowing them to do so occasionally when there's no other choice is completely different than encouraging them all the time. Boys need to become confident.

So if we're standing in front of a stores restrooms it's not really taking them to restrooms, as they're already there, but anytime a restroom isn't in site and there's any possible place closer the boys could possibly do it, they're expected to.

There are always situations where it's common practice for guys to pee outside and where it would be rather embarrassing if my boys were to insist upon using a toilet. Some examples would be when friends or family is having a bonfire party out back, when we're camping, hiking, boating or along the river. When the boys are swimming in a backyard pool or just out back playing. For those who work in the landscape or construction business, no one wants them to track into our homes.

I think that men when expose themselves in public for their convenience they have to realize that it's possible they will be exposed for doing so.

Amsterdam is rather an adult weekend party town and I would expect that many of these guys were from out of town and here together for a weekend. As these tourists are the life of the city, I imagine the locals tolerate a great deal of things from guests. I know that men urinating against limestone and marble buildings is doing a great deal of damage to them and thus they've be moving to stop that, but as I say, the canals and storm drains aren't an issue to the buildings nor do they create a fowl odor, so I doubt anyone would care about guys peeing there, as nudity isn't an issue there.

There's nothing to feel guilty about. it's perfectly normal and most moms actually want their sons to be more bold and confident. The more often you do so, the easier it will be and the less you'll be worried about hiding it. Don't fear "getting caught" most moms approve of boys doing so and once it's out in the open you'll be free to do so whenever and you'll likely get encouragement from your mom as well. This was the way it was all over Europe a few decades ago, while it's not near as common these days in Western Europe, with the exception of large festivals or games, in Eastern Europe it's still like this.
