I understand the physical meetups due to possible safety/privacy issues but i dont really understand the issue with dms. In my experience on here, i have developed some very hot and horny convos in the dms as naturally i think most people are more likely to open up to one person rather than everyone. I have found a few people who are into the exact parts of the kink as myself and that has been deeply satisfying to know im not alone in that way. I think dms should be encouraged not discouraged to be honest....

Thanks @selfpissinglad and I'll clarify what I meant by the DM comment - reading back it wasn't actually responding to the OP, but to the latest comments from another person.  They're also from a brand new user of the site, who's joined and in their first ever post has used the 'if anyone wants to chat... just message me'.

Now I've got nothing against using DMs as you've described and I'd be incredibly hypocritical if I did.  It's a natural way for established friends to further build that friendship.  I was making the point for the new user though that we are a forum and not a message chat board.  Genuinely there are large numbers of people joining and instantly thinking DMs are what we're about (when there are 100,000s of topics ready to read and interact with).  And presumably thinking their inboxes will be filled instantly with horny girls (or guys) wanting to chat.  If the forums aren't active, ultimately people will stop visiting.  And there's Rule 17 about not messaging other users excessively...

I could digress further - but I'm already leading this topic off track.  I wanted to explain what I meant by a hopefully gentle hint in the right direction.

I don't agree that because people are in the dms they wont also use the forums. The dms are what lead me to this site more often than not and while im there I will have a squiz at the forum topics and comment...i would use it as a selling point and not be so heavy handed with the rules and regulations...
