The 'plumber' visits, and gets a bit wet
harry_jones_1975 replied to Kupar's topic in Real Pee Encounters & Experiences
Amazing times. Thank you for sharing. -
Welcome aboard. Your tales sound right up my street.
-
I'd be very chuffed with that time. Well done chap.

Sub 2 achieved. Eased down with 2 lengths in the Lido. First time I have been here with clothes on. Off to the Wonky Donkey for a celebratory pint and am booked into a carvery nearer home later on. Not as Hank Marvin' as expected.
-
Kupar. Going as Billy no mates lol so will have to huddle decently lol. Against my better judgement am aiming for a sub 2. If I am going to post a 2 hours 6 minutes would rather flog myself and slow up to that pace rather than a consistent trundle and wonder what might have been. Am definitely looking forwards to peeing myself a few times en route. One benefit to wearing long black trousers lol.

Tomorrow is the big day. The temperature forecast for the day has dropped dramatically plus strong North-Westerly winds which will be chilly plus the first half of the run is in that direction. Have invested in a winter running hat and gloves. I know I will warm up mid run but it's the waiting around for it to start which worries me. Still haven't worked out where to stodge up tonight yet.

Reminded myself on Thursday evening just how much I cannot run in the dark to save my life. 8k in 51 minutes 40 seconds. Total rest now until the big day.
-
10 Days and counting to my first half. Don't panic Mr Mainwaring.

You reckon correctly Kupar. Took your advice LovesToWet and ambled round aiming for stamina rather than speed. I now have a time to beat when I do it at the event.

Welcome aboard. Have fun exploring.

Thank you sharing this wonderful occasion. -
Mixed feelings about this mornings run. I appeared to be flying along at 4k and felt I could run forever but just hadn't realised I had a tailwind. Fast forward to 8k in a headwind, uphill with my left knee giving me serious pain and struggling home. Later the top of my inner left thigh was niggling. But I did manage 11.6k in 1 hour 9 minutes 12 seconds. First run since 25th July and have barely run all year so to get around at 6 minutes per k is good news. Most importantly my left foot arch issues which are the reason I haven't been running didn't flare up.
-
Cheers. My last run was 11.5k on 25th July so not feeling confident but normally find some residual stamina from somewhere.
-
One month till my first half. My foot seems slightly less painful so need to give it a proper test tomorrow

Excellently executed creativity. -
After over a decade I finally had a sighting this weekend at a massive outdoor gig. 655pm. First sighting. The only part of the venue that had occasional internet signal arriving and departing depending on the direction of the wind was luckily 40 foot from a group of urinals which were labelled as toilets so 2 women had walked in thinking they were portaloos but then hastily withdrew upon realising. My attention was caught by a woman about my age in denim shorts walking purposefully towards the toilets, there being lengthy queues for the nearby portaloos. I scurried after her and to my

Definitely a. Hope your running mojo returns soon dear friend
-
Cheers Kupar. It hurts less but my patience skills are poor so want to get back out running rather than resting further.
-
My first half creeps nearer and nearer but left foot hurts so resting it and not running. So much for all my plans of practicing and setting a time I was proud of.
-
I had a slice of pizza once that was a bit dry so pissed on it then ate it. Happy days.

My ultimate dream -
Get well soon and hope you find the courage to cycle again.

Had a very encouraging chat with a running friend Friday evening and have signed up for my first half marathon. Went out for my first 5k run in 3 and a half months this evening aiming for a 30 to 35 minute effort given I have been very poorly recently and just scraped in a sub 30 so well chuffed. Long, long way to go to regain my peak fitness but it is a start.
