You're right about the warning page... we don't currently have one, but for UK users we will have to after these changes. As for detecting what's a porn site and what's not, you're right a lot will slip through cracks and not get picked up. It has been disabled. I think it definitely worked better for scrolling down pages, and certainly saved bandwidth, but I realise that many members aren't starting at the top and going down, so it isn't really effective. Should be back to normal now. The other speed changes seem to still be working my side though. Please could someone confirm if things are running smoothly for them? (aside from the picture loading - which is now back to normal),

I can see the intention, but I fail to see how this will work in practice. Having a database of everyone who accesses porn doesn't sound great either. I think it's much more designed for the large tube sites, but technically PeeFans would be included, so I'll do some research and see how we can ensure there are no issues. @will64makes a good point though - government rules are making VPNs increasingly appealing.

@Blackinksoul30as a gesture of goodwill, I have extended this to 5 new conversations per day for non-gold members. (Still unlimited messages/replies too). If you still really feel this is holding you back a lot let me know, but it's also important we have some sort of limit to stop private message spam, which is much harder to moderate (I'm in no way implying you would be spamming, but unfortunately the system can't always differentiate between you and a spammer). Hopefully 5 is a good number. 🙂

Not our week, is it? 😂 I won't bore you with the technical details, but the site was showing 404 errors on most pages for the last 2 hours. Everything is now fixed I'm pleased to say. There is a rule that you can only start 3 new conversations per day, unless you're a gold member in which case you can start unlimited conversations (gold members also have unlimited inbox storage too). However there's an important thing to differentiate here: There is no limit on the amount of messages any member can send per day. A conversation means a brand new thread. But you can reply to existing conversations limitless times. So even if you're not gold, you could in theory send 100 messages back and forth in a day no problem. Yes good point. The back and forth between people (especially on unrelated things to the topic) is definitely best for private messages as can be offputting for others wanting to join in. If it's happening a lot please feel free to report the posts - not that I'm looking to take any action against people who do this (we don't want to limit chat) but just so we can tidy threads up and encourage people to have those conversations via messages instead.

It should be viewable from within each section of the forum too (in the sidebar). However, on mobile devices since there isn't room for a sidebar, it appears underneath the list of threads which means it's rarely seen there unless using a desktop (which I realize a lot of people aren't). The alternative on mobiles would be to have the chatbox above the list of threads, but I feel like that would get in the way. The first thing you mentioned is actually by design - lazy loading. It was being trialled as the logic is that images only load when viewable on the page, meaning when you first go to a picture page rather than trying to load 50 pictures at 2MB each all at once, it should just load the ones you can see. If you have a very fast internet connection, this wouldn't help you (and may create the effect you described), but for people with slower connections it should work better, and reduce overall bandwidth usage. If people don't like the way it works though, we'll scrap it.
