Popular Post steve25805 126,024
For personal reasons I am not going to discuss publicly just now I had to have a brain scan yesterday. Several hours beforehand they inject you with mildly radioactive iodine. The interesting thing is that there was a separate toilet specifically for patients like me to use. I was advised to avoid public toilets and avoid using other peoples toilets unless I had to in which case I had to be especially careful not to make any mess. I was advised to sit on the toilet to pee, which is not what we males normally do unless attending to other business at the same time. The reason for all this? Apparently my pee was going to be radioactive for up to 24 hours, lol 5 Link to post
Peekid 277
Hope this doesn’t break any site rules. If you have anyone you don’t like, sounds like the perfect time to pee on their lawn or something like that 2 Link to post
AlexWolf20 63
It kinda reminds me of hank green talking about how chemo work, people pretty much pee their cancer out. He's currently going through chemo and mentioned it on his tiktok 1 Link to post
gldenwetgoose 21,492
Thinking of you @steve25805 - as you know and as we’ve said in our communications. One a tenuous link, over the last couple of year I’ve had a couple of cardiac CT scans, where during the procedure they inject me with a trace dye which shows up. I think it’s also radioactive. Now at the point of injection it creates a really hot flush that follows the path of the dye being pumped through the body. The point of this whole anecdote is the very cute nurse who told me ‘when we inject the dye it’s going to feel like you’ve wet yourself, but you haven’t ‘. Another of those missed opportunities for some sort of smart response aligned with our kink… 2 Link to post
Bacardi 10,134
Does it make your pee glow? Would it hurt if you peed on me? 🤣 In all seriousness, good luck with what you have going on. Your peefans family will always be here for you Steve! 1 1 Link to post
Kupar 13,340
I am sure this is a superpower that's missing from the Marvel universe. Seriously though Steve, take care. Hope all goes well. 1 Link to post

However, there IS a dye used in certain eye procedures that is excreted in the urine and turns it fluorescent yellow. I know because someone posted a photo on Flickr of neon yellow pee saying it was from that. Given that it's OK to inject this fluorescent dye into the eye, I'm sure that playing with the resulting glow-in-the-dark pee isn't going to hurt anyone. Link to post

My husband has been asking my care team if radiation is going to make me glow in the dark, but all I have had so far is chemotherapy. Edited June 27, 2023 by Simpfan4 Typo Link to post
Popular Post Simpfan4 174
Incidentally, they tell us to flush the toilet with the lid down, twice, in the first 48 hours after receiving a chemo treatment. And men are told to pee sitting. My first chemo hit me differently than my second. With the second, I was peeing almost constantly, and very much feeling as though it had run right through my exercise leggings. They had to bring me to the toilet twice, IV stand and all. Don't know how my third will be. 5 Link to post
