Anyone not hearing cicadas this time of year?

It's almost August and I haven't heard any cicadas this year. I only heard a couple just now for the first time. This is both surprising and concerning. Anyone else experiencing something similar?

Don't tend to get them around here, so don't  hear them at all in my part of the world.

Have to say though it is unusually Ef$%g hot here ATM

In my part of the world we really only get the ten and 17 year cicadas. Brood ex last summer was brutal, and the group before last was even worse. I can remember being a kid and trying to play on the playground at school and having those things fly in my mouth and up my nose and stuff. I hated it. 

If it were up to me those things would never ever come back around here lol.

Just found one of the baby ones emerging from the ground today haha
