Admin 14,788
In your opinion, do aliens exist? Link to post
Scot_Lover 1,876
Yes, I'm one of them, rofl. Given the size of the Universe, they must be out there. We are just of so little importance, that they don't come see us. Scot_lover Link to post
steve25805 126,015
Well, I tend to believe that life is in some way a naturally developing phenomemon which will tend to develop wherever the conditoins for it are suitable for long enough. And already astronomers have discovered that planets orbiting stars are actually very common out there, so given the enormity of the galaxy, let alone the universe, there must be many other planets capable of sustaining life with alien life on them. Intelligent life is probably much rarer, yet again given the enormity of even our own galaxy, it must surely exist out there. Whether it is ever possible for any of these intelligent aliens to travel the vast distances necessary for them to actually "visit" us, I am less certain about, but I certainly do not dismiss the possibility. Kathleen 171
It would be arrogant to assume in the vastness of the universe that we are alone Link to post
on the porch 709
Yes, trillions of Galaxy's , trillions of billions of stars ,each can have planets , so why not , Are we so small minded to think we are the only ones in the universe Link to post
randomiser 151
Depends on what you mean by "aliens" ... but yes, simple probability says that life will exist somewhere else. Whether it's what we would describe as an "intelligent race" (and sometimes I struggle to put humans in that category) is unknowable, but life is out there. It's a classic near-zero * near-infinity calculation. As long as the probability is > 0, no matter how close to zero it is, the percentage chance across the universe is 100%. Since we exist, the probability must be > 0 ... QED. Link to post
Pooler 170
Given the size of the universe I think that intelligent life out there exists on more than one planet. Are they visiting earth? Definitely not. There is absolutely no evidence of any other life visiting earth. Any evidence of other life visiting earth has been disproven or discredited. Link to post
likewetting 246
Just imagine that we on earth are the only life in the universe. If our planet ends, that would mean there wouldn't be any more life in the universe, ever. Wouldn't that be sad. Link to post
