  1. It's certainly looking that way Jodi. Sadly a mistake the UK is going to have to live with for years to come, I'm still shocked it's happened.
  2. Gentlemen, I am quite sure you all have more important things to deal with in your lives than this argument which, regardless of who is right or wrong (and from what I can deduce, it's not so much what's happened in the last week, more a case of things people have wanted to get off their chests for a while), there surely has to be an end to it. As I said a few days ago, for me this row is surely not great for the image of the forum. I have no idea if it's run for profit, with the premium videos etc, I can only assume it is but this is getting ridiculous. There are real problems in the
  3. Has Trump, or Clinton for that matter made much of a compelling argument for changes? The contract issue is a problem here too. There are far too many people on zero hour contracts and it's pretty hard to plan for next month, let alone next year when your hours per week can be anything from 0-50. From everything I've read, not sure anything Trump has proposed will fix the situation, I don't think there is a quick fix to any long term unemployment problems. Whilst his proposals on immigrants will no doubt include the notion that jobs would be freed up for Americans, companies here offering m
  4. Whilst I know Trump is doing well with the patriotic vote, has there been much debate about fiscal policies or is that yet to come?
  5. Some of the leave arguments I could understand to a point but the cost of sovereigntry won't come cheap and I wonder if a lot of people on the breadline will regret voting leave if their jobs become at risk.
  6. All pretty minor stuff though. None of those silly regulations have much of an impact on the day to day life of an average person.
  7. I voted remain for many other reasons than the ones you have mentioned however your ability to travel between the UK and Europe on a single passport won't be affected in the slightest.
  8. I think being realistic, if people on here happen to live near each other then why not just meet up for a beer rather than all the BS talk of I'd love to come and see you pee etc etc? I'm in Manchester, (UK) and would gladly go for a drink with anyone from here, get to know some new people and have a laugh without the pressure of there being any more to it than that.
  9. Well I'm short on work at the minute with it being barely into pre season for most clubs so if you find that you don't get any other offers I don't mind helping out for a few weeks till you get someone permanent but give it a few days, see if you get any other offers. As I said, I'm relatively new and unknown so there will be better qualified people than me who could help out but if you get stuck, the offer's there.
  10. I haven't met enough people, am still relatively new here and have no doubt been too contraversial politically but out of interest what's involved in modding a forum?
  11. If you've ever been on the wrong end of a situation where two people get caught cheating you would know it hurts like hell. There is a gut wrenching feeling that is incomparable when you are still in love with someone and they cheat on you. Can't condone your behaviour I'm afraid. If you love the woman you are with you wouldn't have done it, clearly you don't so maybe best to be honest.
  12. It's a complex one and whilst the pound will bounce back to an extent I suspect it will not bounce back to the level it has been. It helps very few industries and jobs will be lost as a result. Already, it's been admitted that we were lied to about the amount of extra money which was going to be made available to healthcare. This country has truly dropped a bollock for want of a better phrase!
  13. For me it was a sad night. I watched with a growing sense of dismay as the reality started to dawn in the early hours of yesterday as to what we had done. Sadly, a lot of voters were not aware of the issues at stake and those sprouting casual rubbish about "all that money we give to the poor countires" etc etc will not give two hoots to the fact that more money was lost in the devaluation of the pound in 24 hours than we have given to the EU I'm the whole 24 years we have been a member.

This really isn't about my opinion, one way or another. The fact of the matter is, the mayor pulled the ad campaigns because of the type of models being used. It really isn't about my opinion or yours, that is what happened. I'm not sure what the argument is on this one, that is simply what happened.

i never gave an opinion. I just explained that you simply have misunderstood the issue.

I wasn't stating my opinion as a fact, I was simply educating you as to the actual issue at stake.

It is the job of the government (not that Mr. Khan is part of the government) to look after its citizens.

If Mr. Trump said that should he come to find himself in the White House, he would put a stop to model agencies encouraging young women to starve themselves in order to fit the body image advertisers were looking for, would you have a problem with that?
  19. Pete2304

    Islam

The issue was not with the women being scantily clad, it was the type of body image certain adverts were promoting.

So, had the new mayor of London been a white man and he had proposed that model agencies were no longer allowed to use underweight, malnourished young women in their adverts, you would have a problem with that?
  21. Pete2304

    Islam

The whole issue was about trying to put a stop to the numerous model agencies in this country that encourage impressionable young women to aspire to look like twiglets. Sadiq Khan is totally correct in wanting to put a stop to that because a diet of cocaine and coffee isn't particularly healthy. If he didn't happen to be a Muslim, you would no doubt agree with the idea.

    Islam

Which part of me merely stating a fact do you dislike?
  23. Pete2304

    Islam

Again, incorrect. The issue was about under weight models being used in advertising campaigns.
  24. Pete2304

    Islam

And on what grounds do you base that statement?
  25. Pete2304

    Islam

Incorrect. He banned adverts wherby stick thin models were shown to be aspirational
