It has been increased to 3MB. I agree 2MB was too low, but I also think that almost any image over 3MB could be compressed without noticeable quality loss. 

Obviously the higher the file sizes, the higher the bandwidth costs and disk space costs for the site. 

However, it's not just about that. Having too many overly large images makes for a bad user experience too; it means slower page loads, and if not on wifi it uses much more data which can get expensive. Not only that, the slow loading speeds affect things like our search engine rankings. 

So I don't think much higher than 3MB should be needed, but we will see how it goes. Anything over 3MB can be run through a free compressor like https://compressor.io/ - you can even try lossless compression, so the quality isn't affected whatsoever. 

If people are finding a lot of their uploads are still being affected, we can review it again, but the vast majority of images should be under 3MB anyway.

No problem at all. I lose track myself of who has access to what sometimes. 🤪 

But since there's a cost to peefans for hosting/serving the files, and there's no way to monitor what's going on with them inside PM's, it's just less risky (and expensive) for us to restrict private uploads to just gold members. 

Luckily if your friend doesn't want to upgrade to gold, it's easily navigated around by copying and pasting the image from elsewhere, or using a free upload service. Slightly less convenient and secure that way, but I guess that means it's another incentive to upgrade. 😉

Unfortunately direct uploads are only a feature of gold members. Not browser related. 

All members can upload files to the public forums, but only gold members can upload private attachments. 

However non-gold members can still send images to each other privately, they just need to be uploaded somewhere else first, like imgur.com 

If it's an image already on another site, just copying and pasting it should work too. 🙂

In the last 90 minutes I've been making server tweaks that could have caused this.

If it's been happening other times though then it's obviously something else.

Since there haven't yet been any reports of everything breaking or the menus being annoying, I will take it as a sign it's all setup nicely now. 

If anyone does have any issues though, please let me know, as it's hard to account for all different devices / screen sizes / browsers etc.

Nope, you CAN still access the one-to-one chats on small devices, but you would need to be on "PeeFans Main Theme Light [Live Chat On Mobile]" 

Go to 'Theme' in left hand corner of site and press that. Chatbox will always be in corner then, and when you press the chatbox in the corner it brings up both the main room and private conversations too. (which are fully operational now, so feel free to use as much as you want).

As you've probably noticed, you can now change the site colours using the toggle item at the top of the site. 

The system will remember whether you select light mode or dark mode, so when you log back in, it should be the same unless you change it.

However, the colour picker is based on a setting that is saved in your browser, and depending on your cookie settings (and whether you use incognito mode) may mean the site does not remember the colour you pick.

So I thought it would be worthwhile seeing which colour options people prefer.

The default started out as plain blue, then was purple, and in the last 10 minutes I've switched it to blue fade. I'd be interested to hear what most people prefer though, as it may influence what the default becomes. 

If enough people answer the poll, I will do the same thing with the dark mode options at a later point.

Ok ladies and gents, here's where we're at after an exhausting afternoon of trial and error:

• On small devices (e.g. mobiles and small tablets), the menu bar at the bottom will display by default. If you click 'more' (3 dots) you can then select 'live chat' to go to the main live chat page.
• On large devices (e.g. large tablets and desktops) the chatbox toggle will be in the bottom right corner like it always has and you will have a small menu that sticks to the top of the screen.

Now... what about the small minority who regularly use live chat on small devices? (or those who just don't want the menu at the bottom) 

• If you go to the bottom left hand corner of any page of PeeFans, press 'Theme', and select "PeeFans Main Theme Light [Live Chat On Mobile]" you should get your wish.  

Inevitably there may be a few bugs with this, so please do let me know if anything doesn't seem quite right.

I realise this still isn't quite pleasing everyone, but the complexity of creating and managing endless variations of options just is not realistic. I hope this new setup now at least gives a reasonable amount of flexibility.

Or ideally, just view PeeFans on a large screen and then you'll have it all! 😄

Yes you're right that would be better, but you're also right it's not easily done.

Your choice of light or dark mode SHOULD save at a user level, regardless of incognito / clearing cookies, as they're 2 different templates. 

But the colour customisation isn't switching to a whole new template.

I'm going to look if there's a way to do save it as a user setting though, as I agree it would be better.

In the meantime, if you are using incognito, perhaps you can use this as a chance to try out some different ones whenever you visit the site. For me personally I've actually preferred switching things up rather than sticking with the same one every day. 

I'm also happy to set the defaults as whichever ones are most popular, although it sounds like there are going to be supporters for all the different options rather than one main candidate.

I am trialling hiding the chat button on mobiles. (Still there on tablets + desktop).

It's still accessible on the main page, and the navigation bar (just click the 3 dots to bring up full menu). 

I know for some people this may be an unpopular decision, but since only a minority of users actually use chat, I feel like the sticky menu at the bottom is far more useful to 95% of users.

I hope soon to be able to integrate chat within the sticky menu perhaps, so we get the best of both worlds.

There have been discussions here before about who you tell about your interest in pee (or if you don't anybody at all). But I think an interesting question is who you would be more likely to tell?

Would you prefer to tell a partner who you're very unlikely to see again so "it doesn't matter" too much that they know (or if they don't respond well)?
Or would you prefer to only confide in someone you've been with a long time who you really trust?

Definitely pros and cons for both.

Squirting! 💦

A quick Google search will actually give you conflicting results on exactly what squirt is, who can do it, and how. So I thought we should open the discussions up to PeeFans, and do a little research of our own! 

There's lots to unpack with this, so feel free to share your own experiences and thoughts. Maybe you've found a way to increase the chances of squirting? Maybe you've got a strong opinion of exactly how similar/different squirting is to pee? Personally I've increasingly noticed videos listed as 'squirting' that look very much like regular pee videos, and so I wonder whether you all find squirting of more/less/equal hotness as "normal peeing"?

Great for sellers to be able to make extra money from home (especially with the way the world is right now), and immediately be able to sell to thousands of potentially interested customers.

Great for buyers to have a marketplace specifically for pee videos, where they can more easily find the exact type of videos they like, discover new creators, and safely pay/download through a familiar site. 

I'm not sure what the demand will be like, but if we have plenty of buyers and sellers, there's lots of exciting ways we could expand the feature too. 🙂

Do you browse the site incognito? I believe the setting is stored in a cookie, so if your settings are to clear cookies when you close a window (which is what happens automatically in incognito mode) that would explain it.

When you say awry, what kind of thing is happening exactly? Could you maybe give a screenshot? Or do you mean the site is literally crashing and shutting the window down?

Honestly the 'unread content' feature, or 'activity' is always likely to load a little slower because it's got to build a list of content tailored to you, rather than loading the same page for everyone. Hopefully it's still only a couple of seconds, but normal to be relatively a little slower than everything else. 

Obviously site speeds in general have a huge mix of variables - including your own internet connection speeds and current server load - but hopefully these recent tweaks should just make things a little speedier when browsing in general.

A few small changes have just been made that should hopefully help the site run a little quicker.

However, please use the poll to indicate how the site is running for you.

You can still set it to yellow or gold using the button in the navigation bar. 🙂
