Kupar 13,339
I had no idea about this Easter tradition. Apparently in Poland, according to the BBC website: "people throw water over each other on Easter Monday. It's known as Wet Monday and happens in many other countries too. It's a tradition is connected with the baptism of a Polish prince hundreds of years ago." Now this is a tradition I would very much like to observe and take part in 🙂. Can anyone who knows more tell me whether it's as much fun as it sounds? 2 2 Link to post
Adyguy6970 876
Well it's certainly a wet Bank Holiday Monday here in the North of England. I'm quietly hopeful that the weather will improve from lunchtime onwards though. 1 1 Link to post
milimetr1975 409
yes, I agree with this: Lany Monday - a holiday tradition in Poland, also called Śmigus-dyngus 1 Link to post
gldenwetgoose 21,486
Looking out of the window right now, and northern England looks like there's a tradition of 'the sky' throwing water at people. Guess Lany Monday could be a lot of fun, as long as it's a nice warm day (what the hell, I'm already soaked - may as well warm up a little more). 1 1 Link to post
