I know, my eyes have become so open about that now and I don't know what it is about doing so that freaks me out so much, it's just not second nature to me to do so, I kinda have to psych myself up to do so, even in locker rooms where every guys openly doing so. I don't know what I'm afraid of or who I fear will judge me as my friends do it all the time and even my mom encourages me.

If I can give you an advice about it bro. Start by going in very quiet locations, stuff that will not draw attention. Just go in very quiet alleys, behind buildings, in park bushes, where there won't be anyone. You start doing it there to feel the freedom of urinating outside. Then, you'll have enough confidence to do it more openly.

Once you have enough confidence to do it more openly, if you still have apprehension I advice you to go to a well used spot. 

Place you know dudes uses as urinal, and you piss there. Then you'll see that it'll be easy to just piss anywhere you want bro.

Seriously man, like @Kevin said, no one really cares.  Hell the guys who pissed on my door surely didn't.  Honestly, just start out small and work your way up to bigger and grander things

Even if I know others have done so, I still have this hesitancy, like maybe it's not what I think it is. I was that way in pools, pretty sure what guys were doing, but still not certain enough to do so myself.  If my friends are doing so I feel a bit more obligated to join them though. And even though I've become well aware that my mom's quite open minded about it, still she must think I'm really wimpy because I kinda wait until she directly tells me to do so, rather than take her subtle hint,

Maybe you could ask her if there’s anywhere she does consider off limits? (If she wanted you to piss down the stairs and not get pee on your shoes, that’s a start - though maybe she enjoys the idea of your piss flooding the stairs…)

You know, I've been thinking about this so much over the last few years, wondering if this is some kinda fetish for her or something, but really I think it's more to do with her viewing me as rather timid and fearful in general and that maybe her hearing me being teased by my best friend a few years back for not just peeing in the locker room as my teammates did made her feel like she needed to build my confidence. I feel like she's always finding a subtle way to give me an opportunity to be bold, but when I fail to do so she compels me to do so. It's like if I don't take the initiative myself I know she'll push me to do so, yet I really feel like maybe she just wants me to surprise her by doing something bold. I'm just not sure.

I guess that I wish that I'd somehow be confident enough to just do it on my own. I kinda think that maybe if I did she might ask me or even tell me not to, or that I shouldn't or at least shame me for it, but I think now it's the opposite.

Well, I mean… pissing in the bed sounds like it’s out, and peeing yourself onto your pants or shoes is out, but it sounds like most places you might do it are fine as far as she’s concerned.

idk. “Fetish” would be jumping to a conclusion, but it sounds like there’s an unusual degree of interest there, and, really, if you’re going to be a bit on the fastidious side, I’d think that was your right to make that decision, unless you’re like insisting on finding a bathroom out on a hike or something equally inconvenient. Not that I’d personally favour being fastidious about where you go pee 😉

I get what you're saying, but as I've thought about it I've come to realize that in times when I've been alone and in one of these places where no one would notice or care I was never really interested in peeing there, even knowing no one would notice. Unless I was really desperate or I was in a really remote place I'd just wait until I was near a restroom. I don't really know why I do that, certainly I could always get away with it, but it just isn't second nature for me to think of that.

The only time I really used to think about peeing in other places is when I'm with friends or teammates who are all doing so themselves and I feel as though I'm rather obligated to do so as well. Also in this last year since mom offered me a bit of advice and voiced her thoughts about it, I've felt rather obligated to "man up" and prove that I'm not timid or fastidious about doing it in unconventional places.

With that said though, I guess I'd become comfortable with pissing in the locker room with my teammates last year and when I got to college this year I confess that I was a bit disappointed that these new teammates weren't anywhere near as bold and that we had coaches walking through the room making it seem more intimidating. While I'd seen a couple of guys doing so at inactive times, it wasn't commonplace and I certainly felt no obligation to do so, yet I realized that I wanted to for the first time. As you said, I'd do so in a rather obscure place at a slow hour as not to be noticed and slowly began to be more confident. A couple weeks ago I'd become so casual about it that our female coach actually noticed me and jokingly critiqued me before laughing and saying, "oh don't be so neurotic, it's time-honored privilege." Since then, I've been much more at ease about it and as it's been said here, once other teammates noticed me doing so they've followed suit. For someone who has been doing this only really to fit in, I've come to realize that this time I was the guy who made it common and that I really wanted to be able to piss there.
