zxcv22 75
You have probably seen the famous Manneken Pis Statue in Brussels for everybody to see. There is also an equivalent female statue also in Brussels but hidden in a side street. I think the female version is beautiful and should also be on full display. Is this fair, why hide it away. 3 Quote Link to post
JesseP 1,265
Interesting, I didn't know there was a female one. I am surprised they have hidden it away, I have been to Belgium and seem women peeing quite publicly before and no one took any notice! Quote Link to post
MissPiss 1,021
I like that and would have one in my garden! Quote Link to post
JesseP 1,265
I like that and would have one in my garden! They might need a new model, any one care to volunteer? 2 Quote Link to post
Joost 1
She is called Jeanneke Pis Quote Link to post
Andrei 78
I did not know that, and no I do not think it fair to hide that away while the boy pissing statue is on public display. But this just shows the inequality that has always been present about boys being naked (being able to pee) and girls always being covered up. Quote Link to post
yellowriver 10
Here is the story of Jeanneke Pis (official website). www.jeannekepisofficial.com/index_m.html Maybe the reason is to mix not old artwork with new one, but I don´t know. Quote Link to post
ukpee 41
it is down a little side alley cant remember what the street is called Quote Link to post
F.W 5,655
For its pee they ought to re route a ladies toilet nearby and plumb it in to that, instead of water-real girls piss.Mmmmm.Because it looks like quite a young girl,i must admit i find it a little wrong.....Maybe if it represented at least a teenaged girl it would be a bit less odd.But its definately charming..:) Quote Link to post

Andrei 78
I guess the youngness of the girl matches (nearly) that of the boy. He is (I would say) even younger again, and yet no one has commented about how odd it is for to see a statue of a young boy pissing. 1 Quote Link to post
Lickher2 282
Re routing the plumbing from the ladies sounds like fun, . . . .could be used as a drinking fountain  Quote Link to post
kitty and mimi 118
I think this is because our society consider female public urination to be taboo while male public urination is considered to be normal. but any way, I wish each of those two statues can be put in front of each gender bathroom to be used as gender bathroom signs. maneken pis should be in front of men's room while jeanneke pis should be in front of women's room.
