Taking a pregnancy test

I’ve been feeling a little off recently, strange cravings and occasionally feeling sick so I wanted to check I wasn’t pregnant. I invited my husband to join me in the bathroom and pulled down my leggings as I sat on the toilet. I was so hard to hold my bladder while I read the instructions on the pregnancy test, sitting on the toilet made me want to wee so much more! I was fighting my body’s autopilot and over 30 years of releasing when seated. I wanted to read the instructions just in case there was anything specific required with the kit. Satisfied it was just your standard pee on a stick I removed the cap, shuffled back on the seat a little with my legs parted and took a deep breath.

The exhale was accompanied with the release of my bladder, a loud tinkle of pee hitting the water before quickly being interrupted by the pregnancy test… and my fingers 🙄 I peed on the stick for a little over the 10 seconds stated in the instructions and then leaned forward, holding Mark’s hand as I emptied the rest of my bladder. I felt so nervous yet excited at the same time. My pee seemed to go on forever, I was desperate but I didn’t realise I was quite that full!

After a while my stream died down and I stayed seated on the toilet, still damp as I waited for the results. It was the longest five minutes of my life, my heart was racing, my ears were ringing and I felt so scared. I didn’t even say anything to Mark, I just sat in silence. The result came back negative, I am not pregnant. I took some toilet paper and reached between my legs to wipe myself before standing up and giving Mark the tightest squeeze ever and a deep loving kiss with my leggings still at my knees. We spent a few minutes holding each other before I pulled up my leggings, disposed of the pregnancy test, flushed the toilet and washed my hands.

What a rollercoaster of emotions you must have gone through before, during and after taking the test.. no matter the result, those minutes with Mark after would have been the most special xx
