likesToLick 10,216
It's not just you! Mozilla has just made a massive foul-up with Firefox, causing it to disable and lock out all extensions. This includes all of the security protections like "noscript", "adblock plus" and "https everywhere." Apparently the company is working on an urgent fix. Meanwhile, I recommend people stay away from any of the more dodgy sites you might occasionally use, such as porn tubes, web galleries etc. Link to post
2prnot2p 1,066
This is why I don't update Firefox as often as the updates are available. I'm using Firefox 60. I think they're up to 65 or so. One techie, a Systems Analyst at Ford, agreed with me that these insanely often updates are not really necessary. At some point I do go to a newer version. For example, I used Firefox 43 and finally updated to 60. I skipped all versions in between with no ill effect at all. These companies have made people paranoid about updating. hentaixt 1,581
For now, there is at least one workaround, but it only applies if you're using the Firefox Developer or Nightly build. If you look under "about:config" (if you don't know what this is, you probably shouldn't try it) and set the "xpinstall.signatures.required" value to False, then your extensions will start working again. I tried setting it just in case, but my version of Firefox just ignored it. I'm going to wait for the patch rather than re-installing firefox with the developer version. I agree, they went completely insane with updates and version numbers. It's still one of the best browsers, but they drive people insane with breaking stuff all the time. Link to post
