2019 Predictions

This is a thread where we can post our predictions for 2019.

Could be about anything - politics, sport, science and technology, celebrities - anything at all really.

Here are some of mine....

Personally, with the Democrats assuming control of the House, Trump is in for a much rougher time than he is used to so far, as the House pursues all sorts of dubious connections and doings. He is also likely to find most of what he wants to do blocked.

No clue what the ultimate outcome of Brexit will be yet, but if we leave, harmful economic impacts for the UK will become apparent with companies relocating to Europe and a run on the stock market with a falling pound. There will be job losses. Whether this happens will depend upon whether we leave, and how severe it is will depend upon the manner of the departure.

The deadline for departure will I expect be extended.

At some point Labour will lead the Opposition parties in a vote of no confidence in the government, but the latter will win it and stumble on.

Theresa May will resign as British Prime Minister once the final outcome of the Brexit process is reached, whatever that may be. She will be replaced by a right wing hardliner.

I think there is a good chance that a major medical breakthrough re diabetes might be made.

The UK will have a crap summer and most British people will again start believing that global warming is a crock of shit no matter what is happening elsewhere.

At some point this winter London will receive a millimetre or two of snow. At which point this will become headline news as everything grinds to a halt and an air of national catastrophe pervades the media classes. The Swedes and Norwegians will have the perfect opportunity to laugh at us again.

There is a good chance that the British queen will leave the throne and Charles will become king, either as a result of abdication or the grim reaper.
