From your Account Settings, you can click on 'edit profile' to update your profile with additional information to help other members find you and understand your perspective. When you first join, you will be assigned a letter avatar based on your username, but it is highly recommended you replace this with something more unique, ideally with a cover photo too to make your profile stand out even more. However, there is now also room in your profile for answers such as 'gender' and 'hottest pee experience'.
