Urinetown

Recommended Posts

I just found out about this play:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urinetown

The basic premise is ridiculous on the face of it - if water is in short supply, then the economics indicate that companies would pay you for your pee, rather than requiring you to pay them. However, the notion of a play which uses pee as a plot point is amusing.

In the play's storyline, once the people are liberated from their oppressors, they revel in the freedom "to pee whenever they like, as much as they like, for as long as they like, and with whomever they like". Which does sound like the sort of fun people in this crowd would enjoy.

My school did that play my freshman year of high school, it was quite strange

My, that's quite... strange, that a high school would do that.

One more reason for the deplorable state of economics literacy in this country.
