Migh be a bit late, but, has your stream pressure/direction changed over the years? You ever tried peeing standing up when you were younger?

How do you know she had to go? How was her stream? 

I remember my sister peeing like me when we were on some vacation trip, i was too young to care, but im sure young girls have the ability to pee standing up
