Popular Post BlindListener 152
Many years ago, I was in a doctor’s office building for the first time and needed the rest room. I am totally blind and there was nobody in the hall. I found a door, but there was no accessible sign to help me identify which rest room it was. Since I really needed to use the toilet, I walked in located a stall and proceeded to use the toilet While I was still sitting on the toilet I heard the restroom door open and two stalls were entered. On the other side of the stall partition wall I heard someone blasting pee in to the toilet. Not only did I hear the major stream of pee, but I could smell pee. While the first person was peeing, I heard a little pee trickle coming from a stall further away. The person who trickled was having trouble flushing the toilet. Next I heard a little child voice say, “mommy there is pee on the floor”. From the stall next to me I heard a woman’s voice “be careful not to step in it”, the little voice “I didn’t”. Next the little voice said, “ there is pee on the seat”. The woman’s voice said, you didn’t sit in it” , the little voice ”I didn’t”. Little voice “I can’t flush the toilet”, woman said “you will have to wait until mommy is done”. Now all the time that this conversation was taking place the woman continued to pee her thundering pee. At that time I never knew anything about women hovering/squatting/standing when they pee. Whenever I think back about that event, I sure wish I would have had some way of recording/documenting that outstanding pee. At first my heart was pumping quite fast OH my, I am in the ladies rest room. How should I manage to exit without causing a problem. While I pondered this question another woman came in, used the toilet and left. Since my doctor’s appointment was over, I decided that I was in no hurry to leave the rest room. I don’t remember how many women I heard, but an honest mistake turned out to be very entertaining to me. When there was a period of time with no other visitors, I left the stall, washed my hands and left the rest room with no event. 1 1 1 2 Link to post
Alfresco 11,633
That sounds like you had a great experience there - all the better that it stemmed from a genuine mistake. I have been in ladies toilets - e.g. when gents are out of order - and I will admit to having stayed there longer than strictly necessary in order to enjoy listening to the sounds from neighbouring stalls.
