Popular Post Alfresco 11,631
A few days ago I went to the local station to meet my wife off a train. It was about 7:45pm, so still relatively early. The train was due at 7:50 but the board showed that it was delayed by 10 minutes, so I had to wait around a little while. A man aged about 25 walked through the gates onto the platform and headed straight to the toilets, only to find his way barred by a closed steel gate. He went back out to the foyer and approached the ticket sales counter where presumably he was asking if the toilets could be opened. The answer was obviously "No" as he then headed out of the station, turned left and assumed the position in a corner of two walls next to some parked cars. His head was clearly visible above the low wall and he was quite obviously peeing there. It was busy, so there were quite a few people about, but he didn't worry about that. Once finished, he walked back onto the platform and waited for the train. a couple of minutes later, another man - this time probably about 40 years old - looked at the toilets, found them closed, then walked straight past them and then turned into an alcove between the main station building and another little building. The gap was about 2 metres wide and fully visible for the platform. He had his back to the platform and emptied his bladder onto the tarmac floor at the back of the alcove. Anyone who walked along the platform would have known exactly what he was doing, especially as I could hear the splattering of his pee hitting the ground. When finished, he left the alcove and took up position on the platform to wait for the train. Shortly after that, I thought my luck was in. A young lady, maybe 25, wearing a short black skirt came onto the platform with a young lad. She went straight to the toilet and found it locked. She bobbed into a sort of curtsy and said to the lad "Oh no, they're closed". I hoped that she would find somewhere to pee, but she didn't. Instead, she crouched down and held her legs tightly together until the train arrived - presumably she hoped that she would be able to use the toilets on the train. I don't know the outcome - I just saw her gingerly boarding the train. She may have found a toilet, or, if the toilet on the train was out of use, she may have had a further problem........ The above all took place in about 15 minutes and was before 8pm at night. I bet there are opportunities for sightings there later in the evening, particularly on a Friday or Saturday, but I don't really get the chance to hang around there on the off chance.
