Urethra hurt by peeing too hard??

I dated someone a while back that told me she would sometimes “push and pee so hard it hurt her urethra.”  She was also a mother so birth may have changed things up a bit down there.  Her stream could cut glass.  Anyone on here ever pee so hard it hurts?? I have, and I’m a guy, wondering if any of the ladies have had this happen to them.

I have never heard of that happening if there is a way for the pee to escape. However, if I pinch the head of my penis so that nothing can come out and then relax the muscles as if to start peeing, the full pressure of the bladder all being placed on the walls of the urethra is enough to make it hurt.
