Sharing requests

Recommended Posts

Erm no -  If it's freely available on the net without the need for signing into a site, being a friend of the host, or payment then it can be requested that someone posts a link (there's a specific page in Pee Videos for that kind of thing).

But using the site to request copies of content which is not freely available isn't something we allow though.

I've touched on this a bit in a different thread in the past but it has probably gotten buried. Ripped content that has been reuploaded from a paywalled site to somewhere else is okay to share here, right?

We're generally ok with the sharing of content that's freely available - so what I mean by that is that if it exists on the net in a form that can be played just by clicking the link, then it's ok to post here.    And in a lot of cases the content like that can be older content which was on a paysite or members' site but has since become available.  We share videos every day with watermarks, copyright messages etc - which are freely available.

The issue is more if it's content which is current and protected by a pay-wall, and it's being 'stolen to order' - for example where a content creator has produced something and is legitimately trying to earn a living, and then Peefans becomes the bad guy for freely distributing their 'stolen' copyright content.   That's why we've got Rule #6 "Do not post anything illegal on this site, including revenge porn or copyrighted material" - I know technically everything is copyright owned, even my words here.  But the issue is about whether it's already intended to be the free domain or whether we're responsible for the first release of it.

That's my take on it anyway...

I guess the situation I had in mind was "fresh" content that is still available behind a paywall (be it an individual creator or some bigger network) but has a rip online, done by someone who is not on here, and then someone shares the rip here. Not like someone from here ripping in order to distribute it here. Cus I'm aware the line can get very blurry quite often with some content and even I've myself have run into a situation like that with one vid that was still on sale by some network but had multiple rips available online and wasn't sure if that was okay to share or not.
