Popular Post Kupar 13,340
On Christmas Day with the family, a couple of unexpected pee-related stories were told. We were all sitting round after dinner telling truths or lies – we had to guess which. A sort of spur-of-the-moment, ad hoc family version of the TV programme ‘Would I Lie to You’. First, my little sister (she’s 50 – not so little really) described how she’d been at a summer party one evening when, late at night, she had been desperate for a wee, and there was already a number of people waiting for the one toilet. She had suggested to her husband that she could just squat down by the car, which was parked on the road in front of the house where the party was if he came to stand guard for her. But instead of keeping watch, he waited until she was in position, squatting with knickers round her ankles, then quickly got into the car, switched the lights on and reversed down the road, simultaneously revealing and illuminating her relief for the benefit of passing motorists and the party guests. Unfortunately this turned out to be a lie … though, only in one detail: it wasn’t my sister, but a friend of hers who was the star turn that night. Yes – my brother-in-law really could be that ungentlemanly – but he’s a good man, and he knew the lady very well, and what she would and wouldn’t find acceptable and funny. Later, my other sister, perhaps spurred on by her sibling, told her own pee-related story, of a holiday in Paris, where she was overcome with the need to pee while wandering down the broad, long, tree-lined boulevard that is the Champs Elysée. And rather than just pop into a café to use the facilities, she decided to pee into a bush, as many a Parisian must have done over the years. In broad daylight, mid-afternoon on a busy day. As you do. Now, knowing my sister – and her almost complete lack of shame about anything – I was pretty confident this was a true story, and so it turned out. But it was one I hadn’t heard before. Not the sort of stories I would have expected to hear at a family Christmas Day gathering! 5 1 3 Link to post
