"Genius" bathroom products

Recommended Posts

It's funny the stuff you stumble across on the internet - in this case, a slideshow of "genius" products. There's 123 products (mostly not bathroom products, but worth scrolling through if you have the time), but here's some pages that might be of interest:

"Bathroom indicator lights: Using public restrooms isn’t exactly something we all look forward to, but it’s just part of life. However, it’s not always as simple as going in, doing your business, and heading out again. Finding a vacant stall on a busy day can take up precious minutes, and sometimes result in a red face if the occupant forgot to lock the door. So, what better way to fix this socially awkward problem than to install a traffic light system."

"Bathroom gap blocker: Going to a public bathroom can be a harrowing experience. Feelings of being exposed can be overwhelming and the need for privacy intense. With these gap blockers you are solving a few problems in one go, making the user experience about as good as it can get in these awkward situations. First of all, any potential peeping toms will be cleared out. They also happen to be soundproof, so any embarrassing slips will not be heard by your colleagues who might be nearby."

"Bathroom stall screens: How many times have you gotten half way through a film in the cinema and perhaps overdone it on the soda consumption and found yourself needing to jet off to the bathroom. That awkward moment where you have to choose between bodily function and missing the best part of the movie. This Swiss theatre found the perfect solution, screens in the bathroom stalls! This means you can pop off to the loo without missing a single scene – you would just need to get there as fast as possible!"

"Splash-free urinal: Though the urinal is an American Standard, the urinal guard, which protects against gross splashes, isn’t something you see every day. Commenters debated whether the splash-free urinal was a good idea, with one person saying that whoever had the unfortunate job of cleaning the urine guard probably wouldn’t think it was all that great. Either way, it definitely keeps the floors from getting splashed, something that any public restroom user can appreciate."
