tcgs 30
Sorry if this has been asked before, but out of curiosity do you think drinking (and swallowing) somebody elses pee is good, bad or neutral for you? This is, assuming the person peeing is healthyish and has no UTI. The reason I ask, I noticed that when I drink my wife's pee if she has a cold, I will get... shall we say a dodgy tummy for a bit. So something goes on! Link to post
Cuckoo42 1,274
urine dehydrates you, its best not to drink it. https://www.winchesterhospital.org/health-library/article?id=161688 Link to post
gldenwetgoose 21,487
Well, I'm no medical expert... So I've just done a bit of a Google on the subject. Bottom line seems to be that any claimed health benefits are a bit flakey. There are some downsides - that the urine you drink contains traces of chemicals and minerals that the kidneys weren't able to process, and your own kidneys will now try and process (using your body's own water content, hence the comment on dehydration). And there are certain bacteria eg Salmonella which could be present in the urine of an affected person - but let's ignore that as you've asked about drinking a healthy person's pee. In short though, the articles I looked at in a five minute scan all addressed the should you / shouldn't you question and none addressed the 'because I want to' aspect. Let's face it, everything we possibly do in life carries some level of risk or ill effect, whether it be drinking alcohol, smoking, taking drugs, jogging (and damaging joints), cycling /motorcyling (risking falling off), step onto a boat or aeroplane, pick up a power tool, parachute or whatever. Every time we step out of the front door we face some risk even if that is the risk of breathing in an airborne virus. But we balance those risks and do the things we deem acceptably safe to do - so I saw no evidence that drinking a healthy person's pee shouldn't be one of those things. https://www.healthline.com/health/drinking-urine https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/326830 https://www.marieclaire.co.uk/news/beauty-news/drinking-urine-urotherapy-21425 1 Link to post
