Frequently on hikes with a partner, when one would stop to pee, the other would do the same. It usually was for practical reasons rather than sexual, no sense on having to stop again only a few minutes down the trail. Usually one would follow the other, but, if we were so inclined, we'd go simultaneously, often aiming at the same spot. Two streams and only one puddle.

    Going simultaneously also saves time.

  2. Despite other poster's comments about it  being to small for an adult woman to use, the roadtrip potty website states "Portable urinal designed and contoured specifically for women and girls." and the list of those for whom it is ideal includes pregnant women.

  3. I would make it a rule that all toilets/bathrooms in public and semi-public (eg Workplaces, shops, colleges etc) places have to be gender neutral. But taking the Gender Neutrality even further than currently implemented and have urinal troughs at an appropriate height and extending sufficiently from the wall for females to squat over, which both sexes have to use to pee in and make it illegal to use the stall/cubicle just to pee.

The Road Trip Potty is for sale and you can buy it now.

It is a pity that it is only available for shipping to the 48 US states. Unless it can be purchased from somewhere other than the Road Trip Potty web site.

  5. Another opportunity for audio at the beach and parks is where there is a bench against the outside wall of the toilet block underneath an open window high up in the wall above the bench. Take a book (paper or e-) with you and sit on the bench you can hear almost everything from the cubicle door open/closing, the hiss or splashing of the pee falling into the bowl,  to the flush.

  6. The other solution, for both genders, of the toilet queues being too long during an interval (be it sports, theatre etc) is to have a longer interval. One idea for all these places where the gender mix varies by event would be for each toilet block to be in three parts, the end ones being gender specific and have a door/divider from each to the middle section and open whichever divider is appropriate to enlarge the majority gender toilets.

The Chinese call a vulva  "the jade gate", and the clitoris is "the pearl on the step".  I've no idea how to say it in any Chinese language,  but I think those translations are rather nice.

Do the Chinese also have a specific name for the female urethral orifice?

  8. There has recently been some controversy in the media about the Barbican (London) re-labelling a set of Ladies/Gents toilets as "Gender Neutral Toilets with Cubicles" and "Gender Neutral Toilets with Cubicles and Urinals" respectively. Most of the comments have been from women who are claiming that it will lead to  men 'invading' the Ladies and increasing the queues for the cubicles. None of them seem to have picked up on the fact that both toilets are now gender neutral so the, previously underutilised,  cubicles in what used to be the Gents are available for them to use.

What do members here think of this? Would the men be uncomforable with women walking to/from, and queuing for, the cubicles and using the sinks while they are using the urinals? Would the women be prepared to use what used to be the Gents?

On the previous server it was set up with https secure sockets layer communication,  which was nice for the privacy of members, though it did make things run a little slower on some computers.  (I presume there are costs associated with doing that again, e.g paying for the SSL certificate, and possibly a greater load on the server for the encryption.)

It is not necessary to pay for an SSL certificate. Obtaining one from LetsEncrypt (and other) is free and would be trusted by most browsers. Though https does put more load on the servers.

Yes! Watching the sequence from when the urine leaks out the back of the vulva until the stream gains enough force to pry the labia apart is my favorite! It's best seen when a woman is standing straight up because she can go from dripping down her legs to projecting a coherent stream out in front.

There is a video clip supposedly in a gym toilet, where sitting on the toilet her stream starts off going forward almost horizontally but then the labia open and a strong stream goes straight down.

  11. At some festivals you can see girls (and guys) peeing even when they are using the official toilets. Or rather you can see the pee streams, not the person who is peeing. When longdrop toilets consist of two rows, back to back, over the 'trench', if you look through the toilet seat while there is someone peeing in the cubicle backing onto yours, you will be able to their pee stream falling and splashing into the pool of waste.

  12. On the 3legged pub crawl, which toilets were used? Did the girl "drag" the guy into the Ladies or did both use the Gents? I am assuming that in each pub they only went into one set of toilets where both of them peed (obviously if only one needed to pee at that time they would, still tied together, go into the toilets appropriate for the one needing to pee)

  13. Another possibility which would be less intrusive, though probably illegal in most jurisdictions,   would be to hide a microphone in the women's toilets (preferably one without hot air hand driers) and record/stream the sound of the various women peeing.  A website which had a realtime streaming from a microphone in a busy womens room might be interesting.

  14. If the people who run pools wanted to reduce the amount of peeing in them they could do more to encourage people to urinate before entering the water. The could, for example, make the layout such that in the same way as to get from the changing room to the pool you have to pass (or go through) the showers, you have to pass the urinals and toilet cubicles - not just the entrance to the room containing them - and put up signs, or have staff, asking people to use the facilities and not just walk past them.  Those who enjoying peeing in the pool would continue to do so, but those who just do it for convenience would start their swimming session with an empty bladder so would not pee so much, if at all, in the pool.

But swimming pools are also unique in another way. They're a place where a whole lot of people already routinely pee without thinking anything of it.

Very rare, but I think not unique. Another place is in a public shower, though I suspect that more people are likely to pee in an individual shower cubicle than in a multi-person shower.

I like girls when they hover pee in the toilet.  Also, I love the thought of young women having to give a urine sample in a cup when they are at the doctor for a school or sports physical exam.

And of them weeing on their hand as they hold the cup between their legs, not correctly predicting the direction of the stream.
