The front page on this issue is worth deconstructing, albeit simply and obviously. The magazines in the 1980’s really do reflect the cultural changes globally, particularly in popular music. Issue 47 begins with a story called ‘Learning about Piss’, a set that appears to be Educational, a school or college with two ‘Masters’ and a large breasted female who is set to make a number of appearances in future magazines. Yes, my research suggests that it was difficult to acquire these magazines. Other's I have spoken to, used the postal system, either ordering direct by using the video/film indexes that CCC published in these magazines, or by risking ordering through small ads in Men's Magazines like 'Escort' and 'Razzle'. As in the previous issue, it’s hard to discern the publication date of this magazine, but we can speculate that it was sometime during 1988/89. Initial browsing suggests that it was a classic for the time, there’s the odd caveat on the cover; ‘Wet Sex Special’, as if drawing in new readers for the contents inside. If you have followed this thread you will know that I am always interested in how the magazine was distributed and it’s destination, particularly here in the UK. Here is one anecdote that I have managed to pick up during my on-line communications. It’s from a lecturer who worked in a redbrick university in the South of England during the 1980’s.

I was tasked, along with several other colleagues to organise educational trips throughout Europe. These often took place during reading week in February because we could get good offers for travel and accommodation at reasonable rates. There’s no date or contents page from the scan that I downloaded for this issue, except for a full page ad for the Video Index ’88, so I presume the issue was released in that year. “Pissing About’ is the first story with two young women and a familiar face from German Porn. During my visits to London in the 1980’s I noticed that the ancient red telephone boxes were festooned with prostitute calling cards. I have always been interested in the timeline of technology and how pornography is quick to adopt the latest; print, photography, publishing, film, video and DVD. When this issue was published the Theander Brothers made available an index of their magazines and by then VHS cassettes. A friend told me that he noticed new titles on the shelves of his local adult shop, produced in Germany, Maximum Perversion and Magma films were featuring models from the Color Climax magazines. The second feature in the magazine includes three men and a rather feisty woman with Middle Eastern looks. She is the ‘cover’ model, taking in a golden stream into her mouth as she gazes cheekily into the camera. My attention was drawn to her ‘spikey’ dog collar and devilish red dress. Mobile phones as big as bricks, shoulder pads, big hair, Princess Diana, Duran Duran, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, The Sony Walkman, Big Hair, Wham, these are just a handful of things that were signifiers of the 1980’s. At the start of the decade, (I was only five years old!) I noticed that the film, American Gigolo was released starring Richard Gere and Lauren Hutton. I have since watched the film on TV numerous times and have to say that I developed a bit of a crush on Gere!

When looking at the first story in Issue 43, ‘Wet Orgasms’, the male protagonist reminds me (just) a little of the American actor. The establishing shot suggests a breakfast scene with a couple, Gere has a towel wrapped around his waist and his partner begins to strike poses aimed at seducing him over the breakfast table. The female in this story is relatively nondescript, by that I mean that they do not fit the usual attributes of being professional models. Perhaps they were two who sent in photographs to the CC Corporation requesting to ‘star’ in the magazine. We know that throughout the 1980’s the Theander Brothers posted an advert requesting people to participate in their magazines. After delivering fellatio the couple move into the bathroom where she exposes herself and pees in a standing position. He holds his hand beneath the warm stream and then fucks her doggy style and in various positions. She then stands over him and urinates some more, cleaving her arse cheeks as she pees. They then take in turns to pee over each other in the bath tub, you can detect the golden pools gathering in the bath. I may have mentioned this in previous reviews but for some reason my acquired scans of these magazines often censor the ‘money shot’ or ejaculation shots, I’m sure that there would have been one in ‘Wet Orgasms’

Unfortunately I don’t seem to have the title of the second story, but it features an elderly couple with a much younger girl, who seems to have just turned eighteen. This story features people that have the 1980’s look, the blonde in particular. The guy is rather aggressive looking, have to say a bit of a turn off for me, especially when he dips his dick into the young girl’s champagne glass! The setting is also a bit ’blingy’ and ‘showy’ like a well appointed apartment with a luxury bathroom. However, once things start getting wetter, the story develops into something of a treasure with plenty of piss flying everywhere. At one point the blonde attempts to fist the young girl as she, in turn sucks the guy off before getting another mouthful of piss.

The third story ‘Golden Girl’ is another unorthodox gem, I do wonder whether the model contact, Jytte Jacobsen was looking for guys who looked like celebrities, in this case the guy in the shoot looks like a cross between Bob Geldof and Mick Jagger! However, the girl is a real find, French looking or having Latin looks, she has the most dense black bush that I have seen so far in these magazines. After pulling down her white cotton panties, she pees into his mouth, before fucking, there are some great shots of her hairy arse-hole as he fucks her, and she has super puffy nipples. After fucking they piss on each other some more.

The final story is a revised one from Issue 25 when it was called ‘Sweet Water Music’, with a mature music teacher giving lessons to two girls, this was reviewed previously.

My preference is always for women pissing on women, but this set goes at least some way towards that since, despite the title, two kinky women are involved.

I'd love to know your source for this information. Is there a book about Sex Bizarre magazine somewhere perhaps?

Not that I'm aware but I do have a contact in Norway who has carried out fairly extensive research on the Color Climax Corporation, however it is clear that there was a sea-change in the publications during the 1980's in terms of the design, print, layout and of course locations and models. 

Sex Bizarre Forty Two

Published in May 1987, the opening story, ‘Golden Games’ is set in a Spanish resort and features one of the most attractive female models from that period. My research has revealed that Peter Theander had fallen out with his brother over the direction of the corporation, as far as I am aware it was Peter that was pushing the publications into more exotic locations and embracing the German publishers and models. Golden Games is a typical Peter Theander production, as the girl is picked up at the airport by two men who take her to a Villa for sex that results in pissing. The photography is excellent throughout capturing the streams of urine, sparkling in the hot sun. One of the men mysteriously leaves the scene, after taking a mouthful of piss, the other keeps his clothes on, until he strips and fucks the girl, climaxing in yet another stream of pee aimed at her mouth and face. It ends with the usual ejaculation shots.

From the mid to late 1980’s the magazine promotes the VHS films, known as the Color Climax Bestsellers and numbered. The Cassette contained six films each with 10 minute films with the emphasis on pissing, usually shot at the same time as the stills photographs used in the magazines.

Wet Sex Party is the second story and re-visits the same one in Sex Bizarre 22, although initially called ‘Jane’s Sexy Party’, (see my review of Issue 22). As mentioned before, the magazine increased in size and was moving towards the 80 page publication of the 1990’s. Those who were avid collectors may have felt short-changed by filling the magazine with older stories, but there was always one or two shots that were different and the resolution sharper than the original photographs.

Kinky Barmaid is the final, original story with what looks like another Spanish setting. I can only speculate on the context of Spain, on several visits to Barcelona in the 1980’s and 90’s I was able to purchase HC magazines from newsstands on the Ramblas. I presume that the Spanish authorities tolerated pornography or turned a blind eye. The kinky barmaid of this story pisses high and hard towards the end, the camera capturing every golden bead of urine as it flies in the air!

Sex Bizarre Forty One

The first story in this issue is called ‘Golden Trio’. In the interests of diversity, it is good to see the Corporation introduce women who are ‘big, bold and beautiful’ as well as of an older persuasion. The two women in the story might well be described as being ‘MILF’s’. An unfortunate term, in my view but I can see how it fits. The mid 80’s saw the Color Climax Corporation becoming more ‘Corporate’, but whoever was responsible for sourcing models still had an eye for natural beauty.

The Theanders released a number of specialist titles, one of them ‘Anal Sex’, but often the sex acts depicted overlapped, so at the beginning of Golden Trio we are treated to some anal and vaginal fucking before the bigger lady releases a stream of piddle into the bearded guys mouth. The second woman joins in and eventually they all form the theme of the title.

In a Wet Duet, a couple come together over drinks, we are again seeing the braless bra, as someone called it, a garment of choice worn by some of the models in the 1980’s. The guy looks like a German footballer from an era when Germany seemed to be winning everything and competing well on the pornography stage! The female strips to her undies in the bathroom after a spillage of wine, and beckons the guy in to join her. He’s wearing a three-piece striped suit, which he keeps on whilst she unzips his flies and takes out his prick. They fuck in various positions in the bath, before she initiates the pissing, urinating over his cock. The bathroom is what one might describe as luxury, no doubt a set constructed in the studios. In the final story called Kinky Drinks we re-visit the ‘bosomy’ trio from Issue 23, already reviewed in this thread, always worth another look to see what photos have been given emphasis. It’s the one with a ‘party’ atmosphere. A good issue, not great, but at least each one tries something new, whether it be new models, locations and of course the story-lines.

I always wait in anticipation for wjimmy's replies, dare I say we have much in common, not least thinking of Abba when I view HC from the 1970's, especially that published in Denmark and Sweden..
