The overactive bladder of Rose

Recommended Posts

Another little story of desperation of mine, came to mind after watching a political debate. Unfortunately, not being a native English speaker, i have a bit of difficulty with the language and i can't write too detailed and long stories, as i would with Italian which is my native language. 😄

Rose, a 35-year-old woman with an infectious smile and sharp intelligence, was running for mayor of her city. Her electoral campaign had been an overwhelming success, thanks to her charisma and her innovative proposals. But a few days before the television debate that could have definitively consecrated her, a disturbing concern tormented her: her overactive bladder.

The morning of the debate proved to be a logistical nightmare for Rose. A radio interview took longer than expected, a traffic jam blocked traffic on her way to meet voters, and her staff told her that hair and makeup for TV would take longer than expected. expected. Her bladder was constantly screaming, but she couldn't afford to give in. She was the candidate for change, and she couldn't show herself weak.

As the studio ligh Rose stared at the timer on her phone. There were only sixty seconds left until the electoral debate on live television. She was the youngest candidate running for mayor, and this was her big chance to shine. But at that moment, a feeling far more urgent than that of her success tormented her: a pressing need to urinate.

As the TV host introduced the candidates, Rose felt the tension building inside her. The pressing questions, the pressure of live television and the unbearable need to urinate turned into an explosive cocktail. Her answers became garbled, her smile trembled, her legs trembled under the table.

Every word became agony. Images of an imaginary toilet flashed before her eyes. She saw the white cup, the flowing water, the immediate relief. But it was only an illusion. It was live on TV, millions of people were watching it. She couldn't give in.

A sudden irrepressible urge to surprise. A drop of urine escaped her, staining her elegant dress. Terror paralyzed her. She tensed, trying to hold back the flow of her with the strength of her mind. But she was useless. Another drop, then another. She felt ashamed.

With a last glimmer of clarity, she apologized to the host and the audience. She jumped up, staggering backstage, while the cameras followed her mercilessly. Her tears streamed down her face. Her political ambition had vanished in a puddle of humiliation.

Rose locked herself in a bathroom, humiliated and defeated. She sat on the porcelain bowl and finally released the river of urine that her bladder contained. She let out a moan of relief but also of frustration, her ambition as mayor had vanished into thin air, sacrificed to a banal physiological necessity.

News of Rose's accident quickly spread like wildfire on social media. Irreverent memes, sarcastic jokes and derogatory comments painted her as an unreliable and uncontrollable candidate. She locked herself in the house, disheartened and mortified.

But the next day, an unexpected surprise awaited her. A poll revealed that her popularity had skyrocketed. Her honesty and vulnerability had struck people's hearts. Many of her had identified with her misadventure, recognizing her humanity and her strength of spirit.

Rose decided not to give up. With the support of her staff and the love of her family, she will enter the final debate with renewed tenacity. She faced the questions with sincerity and courage, also talking about her problem with an overactive bladder.

Her honesty disarmed her opponents and won over the public. Rose won the election not as the perfect candidate, but as an authentic and resilient woman, capable of transforming her weakness into a strength.

Rose understood that perfection was not necessary to gain the public's trust. People appreciated her for her authenticity, for the courage of having shown her fragility.

In the end, she Rose won the election. She wasn't the perfect mayor, but she was the mayor the city needed: a human woman, with her own fears and needs, just like all of them.
