Northern Italian Alps 2010: We - three friends of mine and me - were on the way back from a 2700 meter high summit and still had about half an hour to go to the next managed hut. In June 2023 a co-worker invited me to join him an his wife on an bike ride. We met in the outskirts of our town on a partly sunny Saturday at 10 am. My colleague Tom is in his late forties and his wife, Kathryn, is slightly younger.
