There was always a good chance of sightings between about 11pm and midnight as people couldn't get back into the pubs and there were long queues for the clubs.
These days, the line between pub/bar/club is very grey and they can open as long as they like, so there is no sudden rush of people leaving pubs at 11pm, people can go in and out of pubs, travel home is spread over a longer period and the sightings window back much later into the early hours of the morning.
I'm hoping this will change as the students return and we see more queues developing outside bars that have limited space inside because of social distancing. It'll depend a lot on the town and how many options for late night drinking there are that are open, I guess. Will head out and take a look this weekend now freshers week has started. My favourite was during a may ball at a university. Like other big events, there was a trough urinal in a trailer that was nowhere near big enough for the number of people attending, and it was even worse for the facilities available for the girls. As often happens, the girls were using the men's room cubicles. Even then there was a queue of about 15 women waiting for their turn in the two cubicles allocated for the guys. One girl obviously couldn't wait and was steaming drunk so made a beeline for the trough urinal. She stood next to me, hitched up her ball gown, pulled her knickers down, and pissed right next to me, mumbling that she was sorry but that she couldn't wait. She had even taken her heels off and was basically paddling barefoot in the pee splattered all over the floor. I had the perfect view, indeed the best I've ever had in my years of seeking out girls peeing in public. How I miss my university days; girls were so much more open to peeing without a care in the world back then.

I will post more information as a separate thread when I get the time and have a proper keyboard, but the summary is that it is freshers week in brighton for new students and a lot of them were checking out the drinking offerings. I found a place where there was a park near where the buses dropped them off in town after about a half hour trip from the university. I think they had been drinking before setting out, so lots of people (men and women) got off the buses and headed straight into the park to pee.
Wow, that sounds like quite the night! Looking forward to reading more about the details. Brighton has always been a happy place for me. Had my most sightings there - 8 in one evening, second only to various European festivals. Just walking up and down the foreshore on a Friday and Saturday evening guarantees at least something. I'd never thought about the idea of checking out the bus stops for those young ladies who have been heading into town after pre-loading at home. Nice idea.

Excellent detective work, Alfresco! Yeah, it looks like it might have been men doing the deed there. However, I have seen girls squatting in alcoves like that whilst in a nightclub queue, with people just inches away. Usually friends providing a shield like you said, but you're still going to get a good view if you're in the right place at the right time.
