Maybe they are a bit like the old song :..."mongrels like me looking for tidbits like you on the ground"  Not derogatorily of course but it might describe many out there searching for "Free Pee" content.  They join, sniff around for a while and off they go to who knows where?  Net mongrels.

Good question, Fannywatcher. I think - in short - the people joining but not staying just did not found what they hoped they'd find here.
Which in turn begs the question what the members that DID stay active were looking for. ;) I can only answer this question from my own point of view.

I joined for basically three reasons: first my general interest in the matter (although my personal interest is not that broad and is revolving around maybe one or two sub-categories of this fetish), secondly I was hoping for some... inspirational material (you know, like... well... illustrations and, erm... tales - preferably of members of the opposite erm... gender), and last but not least the off chance of meeting a fancy lady who not only would share my personal interest, but would also in general have enough in common so we would qualify as mutual companions... so to speak.

So your point of people thinking of this site as a kind of dating site is at least for me true, albeit as a tertiary reason.
Although by judging the introductory posts of some of the members I think this reason ranks much higher for some of them... .

As for why I do not contribute very much to this forum: I really only post when I think I have some non-trivial contribution to make. Which is not very often, apparently, and demonstrates very well the difference between internet-forums and real life, as in the later one I can really be quite chatty sometimes and talk a lot of nonsense. Well, then again in real life I can just talk instead of type, which makes matters much easier, and of cause I do not have to translate everything into English, which also helps to speak up when shutting up is probably the far wiser course of action. ;)

I think this man is right

Yet, I would offer a slightly different point of view about this subject:

I am not that sure that people are aware/intentional/fully conscious of the reasons that bring them here: they subscribe because they are overwhelmed by the fascination of such a place, but they are simply more eager to get than to give, and I'm saying it without any judgemental attitude, I have been an "active lurker" for three years before ever feeling the push to reply or to write something! I think that after they read and watched everything the forum has to give, they simply leave.

One could ask: "Then why signing up first place? This is a free forum, you don't need to sign up in order to only-peer-around"

Because millennials grew up in the Facebook culture, where you click first and think later. "Meanwhile, do that!" could be their motto, and that is also the reason why millennials are both very creative (a lot of them has really good financial and business-planning ideas) and very impulsive (to the point of almost daily fist fight in dancing clubs)

I am here for a couple of reasons, my interest in all things pee for one, and my two ladies who are into it as well, is the other. I did find that our interests do not actually relate to what the site is about, we are in this for the sheer sexiness of it. How can I explain the feeling of having two ladies stand above you and actively want to shower you? The look on their faces as they hose me down is beautiful, they truly love doing it. Another thing, imagine the same two ladies in a slow 69, with me at  one end, peeing on a gorgeous bum, while the girl underneath gets as much as she can, can you imagine the state of her when the girl on top hoses her at the same time?

That being said, we have no intention of leaving the site, being somewhat of a minority is better than having no alternative. Strangely enough, we did sign up for alt.com and were told that we were not 'wierd' enough and was asked to take our fetish and move on, lol. Both Maigh and Mary read this forum as guests, they used to share my login, but not now for an obvious reason, and are happy with being anonymous. Long term members may have noticed my posts of our exploits have dimished somewhat, the three of us felt that they didn't fit the forum, they felt out of place in the 'naughty peeing' scheme of things, just something that came up based on another discussion. We still do bad things to each other, we just don't tell you any more, lol.

Maybe we should poll new members on what they are looking for onsite, run 5 or so questions by them, see what they want, as part of the sign up process, would that work? Give us some idea of the transitional nature of the members? Don't know.

As I said at the beginning, I'm here for the mutual interest, people who like some aspect of pee fun, sorry that our fun is just so much more intense, so much more, lol.

I think it's like any other search (read research) you do on the web.  Hit the engine with your terms and millions of hits come up.  Roll up your sleeves and dig in.  Some sites deliver sort of what you are looking for, others definitely do not and if you are lucky, you find a few that lead you on to the knowledge you seek.  It's impossible to know what any one person who joins and then leaves was searching for, thus my rather flippant remark about net mongrels.  I don't know about you, but sometimes I perform dozens of searches a day and don't give a second thought to the sites that didn't have what I was looking for.  I just think it's a bit pointless worrying about why people join only to leave and never come back.  I think the answer is that this site, for some of them, represents the chaff or "not usable" part of their searches.

Agree wholeheartedly.

Other long term members told me something similar through PM. Obviously I am not saying that they got in their minds the same undermeanings known only to ou first person, they got their own undermeanings, but I noticed that something "happens" to long term contributors. Somebody could say "Exception made for never ending contributor like Ozabot or Zzyzx and those of the likes of them", but if you are careful, they usually share pics and videos and not stories. I mean, I think that "story-teller members" are at a certain point hit with some kind of "something" that discourage them from the same fury of their beginnings, something which apparently doesn't hit pics/videos contributor.

There is something in this forum that spoils its potential perfection, and I'm starting to think that beside the actual reasons that I listed, what I felt when I decided to leave was somehow related to this same "change in the atmosphere"

This forum is too "loose": people post and share new stuff but somehow we are too "distant" from each other, it is hard to actually say that we are "friends". And believe, beside all my stuff as a Witch I can seriously tell you that regardless of what some portions of your charachter may think, after unloading one's cum and filling one's belly with food, people start to look for friendship, or at least a little tighter interaction.

I'm not saying I'm somekind of Saviour come with the answer, I'm just reflecting about it, not only as part of my decision regarding coming back to the forum or not, but also as the thing in itself, 'cause subtle-lingering discomfort is Always interesting for one's growth

I think you've hit the nail on the head here.

Sure, I come here for the pictures and videos, but much more so for discussion and conversation. I, for one, would like to see a great deal more emphasis placed on original content and interaction. While we may be distant in terms of miles,  if we share our perspectives and observations, then, and only then, we can become close friends.

Without making people feel invaded or pushed, we could consider upon this matter. If we enhance our desire of interaction, it will pop up as a natural and spontaneous thing. We come here NOT to be pushed to act a certain way or another, yet without anything that rude, we could and should bring this forum to a next level, not so different to the point of making people feel pushed, not at all, but THAT bit

I admit that I am a bit of an "emoter" (is that a word?) and sometimes wear my emotions on my sleeve.  I'm pretty quick to love; not so much to hate or dislike.  Yes, I get hurt sometimes but WTF?  That's life!

Anyway, just wanted to say that there are a number of you here who I already pretty much love as friends.  Whether or not you love me back doesn't matter.  I just want you all to know I appreciate your being here making contributions to the ongoing conversations on the several topics of this forum.  I don't use the "button" often as you all know but that doesn't mean I don't care because I do.  This forum is the most fun I've had since I used to sit around getting drunk and chatting on AOL way back when I first got my first computer.  I love the people.  I definitely love the topic.  What's not to like?

As someone who turned up for a few months, drifted off for about half a year, and has decided to check in once more today- I joined because I liked the lack of intrusive adverts (pop-ups, excessively explicit, etc), which are so (understandably) ubiquitous on other naughty sites. When I signed up there were none, but now there’s just one banner at the top of my screen, and it’s minimally invasive. I’ve always been more of a fan of the “pee questions and discussion” than the actual pornographic content on here, since erotica is more my thing (indeed, i drifted off to a site with a heavier focus on that). The site is easy to navigate, too. Most of all, I find that people on this site are very respectful of other users, and long-term users really do seem dedicated to it. Few threads go ignored and there’s a high level of engagement, and decent activity levels, too. Basically, I found it the best of the pee fetish sites, until I discovered omorashi.org. I prefer the more softcore environment, it’s just a personal preference. (I don’t like encountering male content, which one can’t help on this site).

I agree with you.Too many people use this as an opportunity to post pictures of their bits for us to see whether we want to or not.Pages are available for this i dont like the penis avatar i wish people would use more imagination.

I do think quite a lot of people have a passing interest in our thing, without it being a central part of their sexual psyche, so they sign up, post a few times, look around for a bit, then lose interest. Not everyone is a dedicated pee freak after all. For some the interest is more peripheral.

There may also be a natural nervousness about wanting to participate. Many sign up to lurk. I remember when I first found, then signed up to, a pee forum (it wasn't this one, it was before this one existed), I was very nervous about making my first post and feared a negative response. I got no response at all for a while and had all sorts of lack of confidence angst. But then I got some positive response and thus felt encouraged to post more and soon got drawn in. Had the responses been negative - or had I been completely ignored - I may well never have posted again.

I try to bear that in mind and always remember the need to be welcoming to newbies, trying to give some form of positive reaction to new posts, especially if no one else has done so yet. The first responses a new member gets could make all the difference. Which is why one of our fundamental forum rules is to not be negative or judgemental about other member's posts or interests, unless they are actually trolling or breaking forum rules, in which case they should be reported.

The more welcoming and friendly we all are, the more likely are newbies to stick around and remain active.

I do suspect some newbies sign up hoping for some kind of video gallery - basically looking for new pee porn videos. If that is all they are looking for they probably lose interest in us quite quickly once they realise that our video section only includes links to vids on other sites.

As usual, Steve scores 100%. I utterly agree, we are having ENORMOUS recent contributors like @sathuta and @Peeguy (and surely I'm missing many) that were welcomed the right way and very soon become titans. I utterly agree with Steve, we must encourage newcomers!!!

Sat listen, you re-appeared out of nothing a few months ago, with just a bunch of posts and likes

how do you think you get where you are in so little time?

it's because you got HEART and you put it in the way you contribute

for example, that plan to find japs at first startled me because I wasn't sure it will have worked, but now I have complete trust in you, keep it the fucking up as you're doin' !!!!!!!!
