Memories of Mom

Tonight when I was inside my bed with a fan hitting my face I remembered a memory to about 17 or 18 years ago, a vivid summer day from my childhood. The warm sun bathed the streets in a golden glow, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers. It was one of those carefree days when my older sister, my mom, and I decided to take a leisurely stroll through our neighborhood.
As we stepped outside, I noticed how casually my mom was dressed, when she goes to work always she wear elegant. But that warm day she wore light gray high-cut shorts made of soft cotton and an armless shirt that perfectly complemented the summer vibe, and simples flip flops. My sister and I, on the other hand, sported fabric shorts, comfortable t-shirts, and relished the freedom of going barefoot. I only remember clearly the my mother's cinnamon tanned legs. 
We walked along the sidewalk, enjoying the gentle breeze that rustled through the trees. Laughing and chatting, my sister and I couldn't contain our excitement as we spotted a vacant lot nearby, covered in a layer of fine dust. Our playful nature kicked in, and we begged our mom to let us explore and play there for a while.
With a warm smile, she obliged, knowing it would bring us joy. My sister and I dashed towards the dusty haven, our feet creating small clouds of powder with every step. We laughed and giggled as we ran, feeling the tickle of the dust and sand between our toes.
But as I glanced back at my mom, who seat a short distance away, she looking us playing but a moment I noticed something unusual. Her legs were crossed tightly, and she looked nervous, she was playing with her Nokia with the left hand and with the right she pressed her crotch. It was then that I realized she was in desperate need of a bathroom break. She had to pee, and it was evident on her face, my mom bit her lips. I only remember her tanned legs firmly crossed. 
An indeterminate amount of time passed, it could even be an hour, when my 9-year-old sister at the time told her. "Mom you need to do p word" My mother said "Yes". Then my sister said something like. "Don't be sorry, have you peed right here" but my mother refused.
A mix of concern and empathy filled my young heart. I understood that she didn't want to leave us alone, fearing something might happen. In that moment, I admired her for putting our safety above her own comfort.
After another indeterminate time, my sister approaches my mother again and says "It's bad to put up with so much, if I were you I would have peed on a tree already." My mother replies "I can contain myself, you just play, I'll have the legs crossed and I won't get wet" My sister replied "You're going to wet the shorts" and my mother scolded her saying "Don't make me more anxious, I feel the watering of the plants and it gives me more incontinence". I was kneeling under the swing listening to the conversation.
My mom mustered all her strength, trying to hold it in, but it became increasingly clear that she couldn't wait any longer. With no public restrooms in sight, she made a difficult decision. 
My sister approached my mother and told her "If you want, I'll take you to the bathroom, I'm wants up with it too." My mother replies "No, so when those dudes from the street across the street leave, I'll pee right here."
She glanced around, making sure no one was watching, and discreetly stepped a few feet away from us.
A mixture of shock and understanding washed over my sister and me as we watched our mom relieve herself right there on the street, our mom walked behind a low wall and pulled down her shorts, she pee on the stone floor in an uninterrupted way, a lot of liquid fell from my mother's body, who looked more and more relieved. It was a sight that could have embarrassed her, but in that moment, all I felt was a deep sense of love and admiration for her selflessness.
We glanced at each other, sharing a silent understanding. We knew this was an act borne out of necessity, and our mom's concern for our well-being overshadowed any potential awkwardness.

Was that the first time you saw her pee outdoors? Did she encourage you to pee outside growing up?

The first time, was in a festival when I was very young. My mother encourage me to pee outside when we were in trips, festivals or place without bathroom.

Did she often pee at the same time or just take you? Was she concerned about you hiding yourself or more nonchalant?

When I was little, my mom take my on her hands by the hips. And we hide behind a tree or between two cars, in the parking of a mall or in the shadow of a building

That’s great that she taught you to pee in those places. I have similar found memories of being helped to pee on trees, between cars etc.. I always loved watching and leaving puddles.  Did she have you pee on things or mostly just make a puddle on the ground?  Was she ok with you peeing outside in such locations when you got older? Did you pee with your sister?

When I was a little girl, my mom holding my by my thighs and hips I pissing on a tree or on a wall, also over the pavement and grass. When I grew up, my mother don't help me, one time she squatted behind the car after a supermarket day and said me "This is the way to pee for girls". My mom didn't think it was wrong for me to pee in public if I was bursting, even when I was 10, 12, or 15.

Several times with my older sister we urinated together hidden in the street after parties, pubs or concerts or any event where we had to put up with each other

Do you mind if I ask what part of the world you grew up in?  What types of places was your mom ok with you peeing when you were older? I would love to hear more memories of you / your mom peeing.

I am from the Philippines but I lived I have lived all my life in Indonesia

I have heard that peeing in public is common in the Philippines, is it similar or different in Indonesia?

In Indonesia and another southeast countries, If nobody sees you, we relief in public. I never pee in middle of the street always I looking an alley, between two buildings, on a parking behind a car.

When I've been in Singapur or Malaysia I prefer to hold it, I dare not to spray in public.

I’ve not been there, but I understood Singapore was very strict on all sorts of things (chewing gum is banned country-wide?). A shame Malaysia’s also strict 😞

The chewing gum is another restriction in Singapore, for that I prefer endure me there

Was this also true growing up? In some places (like Europe) peeing in public in places that can be seen is accepted if you are young. Is it accepted up to a certain age?

really yes, my mother hold me by the hips to piss between two cars when I was little and no one said anything.

My nannies also did this growing up. Less often for my girl cousins but sometimes they held them with their feet towards a buiding wall or in a garage. 

Did she ever hold you to pee on anything other than the car wheels?

I know in china the young can pee anywhere they want is that the same in phillipines? What would happen if you was seen as you say you always go somewhere private i.e alley, between cars etc would you get in trouble if someone saw you pee? And would you enjoy be seen when peeing? And carry only our pee?

Nothing wrong with peeing somewhere when you're desperate. At least that's how I see things. Normal to pee outside or hide to pee when desperate.
