It was hosted in a gorgeous barn, with a live band that played away all night. It was a big night for me too as I didn’t know anyone else other than N so quite the social situation at dinner time as tables were seated in 8’s. Right from the start, drinks were flowing and a good time was being had by all. Now to set the scene, the venue is literally in the middle of nowhere, about 15 minutes drive from the nearest town. It’s set in woodland at the top of a hill and surrounded by hay bales. A marquee was set up for the dining area, with a bar adjacent. There was a very small cabin which houses the toilets. About an hour into the ceilidh, I was pretty desperate for the toilet. I hadn’t been all night and I’d had quite a few gins by this point so I thought I better go before I can’t dance. Off I stumbled out of the barn to go to the toilet. Upon arriving at the small cabin, I was greeted by a large queue for the ladies. Maybe 15 people in front of me… what a nightmare. With the cold Scottish air hitting my bare legs it sent shivers into all the wrong places…. I had to pee and I had to pee now! I stood for a few moments, assessing the situation, slightly bouncing up and down, left hand nervously holding a cigarette and right hand sweaty and clenched. The queue wasn’t moving. I quickly became exasperated by the slow moving queue and stormed off. I thought to myself that if I kept moving it’ll take my mind off things. As I turned round the corner, away from the toilets I was greeted by the sight of an empty courtyard. A few fire pits were crackling away providing a gorgeous orange glow. As I walked towards the back nervously finishing the end of my cigarette I took a deep breath. My eyes glanced around checking for any movement. The place was empty. I crouched down behind a fire pit, my eyes level with the top of the metal drum. I could feel the heat off it. I could feel enormous pressure in my bladder with my thighs pressed against. It wasn’t comfortable at all. I took a deep breath in and slightly lifted up my dress, and slid my pants to one side, cautiously feeling to make sure they were safely out of the way. I had one last scan to make sure the coast was clear. No footsteps could be heard on the loose gravel. I took a deep breath in and started to release. It was such a slow trickle. My heart was pounding and my breathing was fast. Being like this, I’d be caught in no time. I stopped, widened my stance ever so slightly, dug my feet in and hunkered down. It started off again, slightly faster as I relaxed my pelvic floor muscles. I burst out laughing at the sound of my own stream hitting the cold gravel at my feet. “I’m actually doing it I thought” and what a feeling it was. For those 15 seconds I felt invisible. Nobody else there but me and the sweet feeling of relief. As the moment passed I had a quick feel in my bag to see if I had anything to clean myself with. Bingo… a small lonely tissue right at the bottom. After a quick wipe it was thrown into the fire to destroy the evidence and I leapt up giving my dress a little sort as I landed back on my feet. Voices could be heard coming across the gravel toward the courtyard. I casually lit up another cigarette as if nothing had just happened and walked past them giving a shy smile as I made my way back to the barn. As I passed the queue to the ladies it wasn’t much better. I could feel a cheeky grin develop on my face as I walked past, knowing what I had just done.
