An act which involves sexual interference with a human corpse (necrophilia), or

A person performing an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal (whether dead or alive) (bestiality), or

An act which involves the non-consensual penetration of a person's vagina, anus or mouth by another with the other person's penis or part of the other person’s body or anything else (rape or assault by penetration)

and

A reasonable person looking at the image would think that the persons or animals were real.

Expert evidence is not likely to be admissible to demonstrate whether an image is pornographic or not. This is a matter for the magistrates’ court or jury assessing the image. The intention of the defendant or their sexual arousal is not relevant either.

"Grossly offensive" are ordinary English words: Connolly v DPP [2007] 1 ALL ER 1012. "Obscene" has an ordinary meaning ("repulsive", "filthy", "loathsome" or "lewd"), distinct from that provided for by the statutory terms of the Obscene Publications Act 1959: Anderson [1972] 1 QB 304.

The portrayal must be explicit and realistic, and thus artistic representations, even if deemed pornographic and obscene, are unlikely to be caught.

That seems to rule out piss porn as a current target for prosecution but the terminology is typically vague. E.g.  "A reasonable person looking at the image ..." (What constitutes 'a reasonable person'? etc.) Still, the legislation seems to be aimed at bestiality and violence rather than piss play. 

I'm reminded of the Anti-Sex league in Orwell's 1984, whose members work at producing supposedly clandestine pornographic material to keep its users in constant fear of arrest, thus deflecting their attention from the true nature of the Big Brother society.

^^^   I have to say I was a bit worried the first time I read through that.

But thank goodness for the 'and' at the end of the first and particularly the second clauses.   A significant part of my job is interpreting requirements, and they are always fraught with the risk of misunderstanding:    The first line is clear enough 'produced solely for the purpose of...'  but the second line less so...   Does it mean grossly offensive, or just disgusting.   My wife for example would consider any show of genitals as disgusting especially if they were peeing.  So thank goodness for the 'and' statement which then leads onto the rest of the things which of course we don't (here) subscribe to.

They are certainly not familiar models and this is their debut. Couples did send in photographs in response to the advert in Sex Bizarre, they are certainly very sexy and attractive. I have visited Amsterdam on several occasions, and am familiar with the city and its more salubrious districts. A friend said that Copenhagen is very similar, in terms of the scale and architecture. The scenario returns to more familiar territory and a female model who has posed in a previous issue. That cover picture on Sex Bizarre 35 is familiar to me from the Amsterdam sex shops but this issue never appealed to me enough to make me open it. I think the woman's bonnet is what puts me off, though I notice that she swaps it for a red headscarf later in the set. Yes, it would be nice to think that this couple were genuine enthusiasts, who really got off on playing out their own - to me - rather strange take on the fetish. But we'll never know, of course.

Nyhavn, pictured in the opening image, has gone through several changes since I first visited, in - I think - the early 1990s. In restrospect the woman in 'Thirsty Lady' does look uncomfortable, not least having to taste urine. It is her second appearance in Sex Bizarre, her 'debut' is in Issue 31, where, again she looks reticent when the gardener pees on her. I'm guessing that she initially consented to the acts depicted in both stories, but may have been lulled into a false sense of security. In the magazines and films, I have observed the facial expressions on men and women when being pissed on and over, it's a good way of assessing the taste and smell of the experience, we are only engaged by sight.

Released in 1984, the first story is a return to the taboo that we shall not discuss here. Although, I would like to draw attention to the fact that materials like rubber, leather, PVC and Nylon are often associated with urolagnia. Also, it is a solo display from a regular Color Climax model, often seen clad in the aforementioned attire. The three young women take off their tops and expose their breasts to the heat of the midday sun, there are people in the background, totally unaware that Color Climax photographers are creating the initial scenes for the story that develops back in the studios.

 

In the apartment we are given the impression that the combination of the sun and the wine have loosened all inhibitions. They fondle and caress, removing one item of clothing after another, it’s the first time that I have seen one of the females with tattoos, albeit very subtle by todays standards. Those readers who are into hirsute women will not be disappointed. The girl with the tattoos breaks the ice in terms of peeing, straddling the young male and peeing directly into his mouth. The camera captures the expression on his face as he is forced into tasting her bitter urine. Pen Pal Pee

As with all my favourite Sex Bizarre sets, the girls here are very pretty and seem to be having fun. There's the sense of innocence I associate with a lot of examples of early porn, from the liberated later 1960s onwards. The topless sunbathing pictures in the park encapsulate that spirit. I especially like the pictures from a little later, where the short-haired woman is touching the tattooed woman's cunt through her knickers while the other man is fondling the third woman. Sex Bizarre Thirty-Seven

 

I have speculated on the notion of how successful the recruitment of models was by responding to the advertisements in the Color Climax magazines. What was the reach, given that they published the accompanying stories in three different languages; were the models Danish, German, French or indeed English. As I understand, the idea of ‘Reader’s Wives’ sections in soft-core UK magazines, like Escort, Dazzle and Fiesta became very popular with females of various ages posing in their bedrooms for a little smattering of fame. Back in Issue 35 I suggested that the couple posing on the farm may well have been recruited in a similar manner, reinforced, I think by their second appearance in the first story, just two issues on. (Perhaps they agreed to do two sessions for Sex Bizarre). 

 

This time the location is a hospital, for a story called ‘Medicinal Piss’. It’s not the first time that the Theander’s  have explored the ‘Doctors and Nurses’ theme with studios and furniture to create verisimilitude. In the UK comedy films like the ‘Carry-On’ series and ‘naughty’ seaside postcards created the stereotypical busty nurse, a fetishistic object of desire. In an episode of the Sopranos the ‘mob’ hire one of the strippers from the Bada-Bing lap-dancing club to perform for one of their ill friends in the private room of a hospital. There are many other instances in popular culture and art, (see Richard Prince’s nurse paintings). In Medicinal Piss, the nurse is clearly dressed as the stereotype, complete with pure white lingerie and stockings. An examination followed by fellatio, fucking and peeing follows, (she turns the sheets yellow). In these later editions of SB, the pee tends to be more clear, as if the participants have requested that before the action begins. But there’s no such concession here, another reason why the couple might be experienced in the art of urolagnia. As far I am aware this is the last appearance by them.

 

In the second story, ‘Golden Bathtime’, all of the action takes place in a large luxury bathroom, where two men, (one of them Middle-Eastern looking) and an attractive young blonde are bathing in a bubble bath and drinking champagne. It’s almost like the girl is a hired escort, she’s very pretty, has a single tattoo on her upper arm and under-arm hair, (for those who like their women hirsute). There’s a nice sequence where the Middle-Eastern man holds the head of the woman as his friend aims a jet of urine directly into her mouth. He licks the side of her face, tasting his friends pee. It makes me  think about the men peeing and how many of them by intent or accident do it over each other. An unavoidable hazard, I guess! SB37 is one of the best from the 1980’s, featuring two of the most attractive women to have graced the pages of the magazine.

 

One final observation concerns the shift in technology. Full-page advertisements for an index featuring the publications and VHS cassettes are now a regular feature. As early as 1974 the Japanese company Sony had developed the Betamax recording tape, later to be superseded by VHS, because, it said that more porn was available on VHS, for purchase or hire. Consumers no longer needed an 8mm projector and screen to view the films, the Color Climax Corporation were soon transferring their back catalogue on to VHS tapes so you could view them on domestic TV sets.

I remember the transition, which was welcome. It's easy to forget that the image quality of earlier porn on film was often poor. VHS and later technologies made the images clearer and more immediate. The viewer/voyeur came much closer to a sense of actually being there.

Sex Bizarre Thirty-Eight

 

I had to virtually re-assemble this issue from the images provided on ‘Imagefap’. No text, or credit page available either, but I assume that it was published sometime in 1985. If my memory serves me right, it may have been the first time that Color Climax were shooting their stories in a more hotter climate, like Spain and the Balearic Islands. In ‘Hot Pissers’, a young woman is seduced by two German guys in what looks like a luxury villa. I liken the scenario to those programmes you often see on Channel 4 here in the UK, ‘A Place in the Sun’, where a young sexy woman tours a Spanish Holiday Resort with couples who are seeking to buy a holiday let. The female is clad in a lacy yellow basque, red PVC jacket and a fetching pair of yellow socks and heel sandals. She is tanned and does resemble a sexy holiday rep! It’s not long before the fellatio begins, with the two lucky guys taking it in turns to get a blow job. However, in the heat of the midday sun, it soon becomes apparent that the threesome want something else, some kink to satisfy their lusty thirsts. The piss soon flies…often with power, so that she is absolutely drenched with urine. The photography is first rate, even in the fairly lo-res copy that I have. The second story is a re-print of ‘Hot Piss Play’ (See Issue 18). This is the return of two familiar faces who made their Sex Bizarre debut’s in Sex Bizarre 14 and 15. Here the scenario is a broken down car, basically running out of fuel so the two dirty madams decide to fill a petrol can of their own urine, resulting in an enema for the older woman, who sends a fountain of pee up in the air from the bonnet of a car. I do wonder where and to whom the initial idea came from, was it the Director, (Jens and Peter Theander), or the two women themselves, I do like to think that it might be the latter, given their many appearances in the magazine during the 1970’s.

 

‘Water Nympho’ is the final story in this issue, back on familiar territory with a scenario involving two men, (plumbers) arriving at a flat with a scantily clad busty lady having a few maintenance problems. A friend told me that he used to purchase sex contact magazines with telephone numbers and photographs of prostitutes working from their own homes. He frequented one such lady who would answer the door in her lingerie, she offered ‘Water Sports’ (Abb. WS) in her advert. As a warm up she would show him copies of Sex Bizarre to calm his nerves. Water Nympho reminds me of his experience, although after some preliminary petting, licking and sucking one of the men departs before the other two move to the bathroom. I had to virtually re-assemble this issue from the images provided on ‘Imagefap’. No text, or credit page available either, but I assume that it was published sometime in 1985. If my memory serves me right, it may have been the first time that Color Climax were shooting their stories in a more hotter climate, like Spain and the Balearic Islands. However, in the heat of the midday sun, it soon becomes apparent that the threesome want something else, some kink to satisfy their lusty thirsts. The piss soon flies…often with power, so that she is absolutely drenched with urine. The photography is first rate, even in the fairly lo-res copy that I have. There’s some excellent pee in the mouth shots as the ‘rep’ gobbles and gargles with piss from the two men. The second story is a re-print of ‘Hot Piss Play’ (See Issue 18). This is the return of two familiar faces who made their Sex Bizarre debut’s in Sex Bizarre 14 and 15. Here the scenario is a broken down car, basically running out of fuel so the two dirty madams decide to fill a petrol can of their own urine, resulting in an enema for the older woman, who sends a fountain of pee up in the air from the bonnet of a car. I do wonder where and to whom the initial idea came from, was it the Director, (Jens and Peter Theander), or the two women themselves, I do like to think that it might be the latter, given their many appearances in the magazine during the 1970’s.

 

‘Water Nympho’ is the final story in this issue, back on familiar territory with a scenario involving two men, (plumbers) arriving at a flat with a scantily clad busty lady having a few maintenance problems. A friend told me that he used to purchase sex contact magazines with telephone numbers and photographs of prostitutes working from their own homes. He frequented one such lady who would answer the door in her lingerie, she offered ‘Water Sports’ (Abb. WS) in her advert. As a warm up she would show him copies of Sex Bizarre to calm his nerves. Water Nympho reminds me of his experience, although after some preliminary petting, licking and sucking one of the men departs before the other two move to the bathroom. This is one of my all-time 'Sex Bizarre' favourites because of 'Tilly', the magnificent - and magnificently dirty - blonde. I usually prefer FFFF or FFFM to MMF shoots, but this is a major exception. Her flimsy yellow top - soon to be soaked and semi-transparent - suggests the colour of  piss to me, and her PVC jacket is kinky. Sex Bizarre was now published three times a year, whether due to costs or the gradual interests from German pornographers, or the introduction of the VHS Home recorder, perhaps a combination of all of these. Nevertheless the magazine maintained it’s high quality production values and sat comfortably on the shelves of sex shops throughout the world. A self-confessed porn addict and confidante tells me that the licensed sex shops in his area were brazenly shelving hard core pornography, without the need for the more clandestine under-the-counter approach. He was a collector of Sex Bizarre, and used to use the contents to explore urolagnia with prostitutes in the city. ‘I used to buy direct contact magazines, and check those adverts with WS (Water Sports) and/or GS (Golden Showers), Sex Bizarre was the trigger for me gaining a direct experience with pissing and I had good and bad meetings with ladies throughout the 1980’s.’

 

In the mid to late 1980’s it is clear that Sex Bizarre was attempting to compete with Private published by Berth Milton, who were now shooting in exotic locations in the Bahamas and the Caribbean. The German porn industry was also developing and it was no surprise that Denmark and Germany collaborated with new titles, VHS films and later DVD’s. The locations changed subtly from the streets and parks of Copenhagen to the warm climates of the Balearic Islands. Thus the first story in Sex Bizarre 39, featured a model who had also starred in the Maximum Perversion Series, produced in Germany. The story contains and example of what we pee aficionado’s call ‘Power Pissing’. The dark haired, petite beauty is held aloft by two men so that she can exact the precision of directing her pee stream with power and accuracy. It is one of the highlights of the issue. 

In the second story we are treated to a re-run of the story in Sex Bizarre 19, (See review). I’m not sure what repeating these stories bring to the table, so to speak. On the one hand, for new readers they are a joy, but for avid collectors? Perhaps there are some shots that have been previously remained on the cutting room floor, or it could be that they now appear in a more highly polished magazine. In the third and final story we see the return of our cover girl in a story called, ‘Wet Sex Affair’ in which two ordinary looking guys, (They could be a stand-up comedy double act) engage in WS in her bathroom. She looks suitably sluttish in a pair open crotch red fish net tights, and has her big boobs hosed down by the most comical of the two men. I know I’ve said this before but it is so refreshing to see natural ‘big’ breasts, as opposed to the falsies we largely see in pornography these days.

I was admittedly fairly young and very naïve when I first bought a copy of Sex Bizarre, but the act of buying it at that time felt very much like the breaking of a powerful taboo. Although piss porn never became exactly mainstream, I wonder if it became a shade more acceptable as time went on. Certainly, the European sex shops used to stock large numbers of copies, so SB must have been popular.

Sex Bizarre Forty

 

I guess that the fortieth issue, (published in 1986) is something of a landmark. Over forty issues Sex Bizarre has evolved from a pocket-sized, dust covered magazine sold under-the-counter here in the UK to a larger, glossy high end porn production. From issue one onwards the photography has been unsurpassed and unique within the context of the fetishes depicted. There’s a wonderful shot by way of an example in the first story, ‘Urine Orgy’, with two women and a bearded guy. in the shot the more mature woman tilts the head of the younger woman back, like a dentist examining the mouth. She seemingly guides the stream from the guy’s uncut penis directly into her mouth, as if administering a mouth-wash. What I also find erotic about this shot, is that we see the fillings in the molars, thus emphasising the dental theme. It’s a natural, distinctive scene that eschews the current tropes of pornography. 

 

For those of you who enjoy watching men and women urinating into glasses and other vessels, (a recurring theme on this forum), you will enjoy the second story with a blonde and two young guys indulging themselves in a story called ‘Wet Sex Workers’. All three are in a celebratory mood and crack open a bottle or two of champagne. The fizz and vim of the bubbly wine is soon replaced with natural champagne as the two guys urinate over her soaking her perky breasts and nipples. She pees into the ice bucket as they continue to fuck and pee throughout the story. It must have been a nice job as the editor, “What image shall we put on the front cover?”, Like all publications the cover is the draw for the consumer. We’re a decade or so on from the time when the sugar paper dust cover preserved and censored the contents within. Here the female protagonist stares directly into the viewer’s eyes. The purple bell-end of of a penis balancing on her outstretched tongue. Her chest and exposed breasts slick wet with urine. The action takes place before a dark background, accentuating the pissing action, mainly from the two men who pee over her and into the champagne glasses. It is a story worthy of the fortieth issue.

 

In the final story we see a re-visit to a previous issue, ‘Pissing About’ from No.21 published in 1978. You can read my review of it in this thread, save to say that there’s some nice standing with skirt up shots, and some stunning pee to mouth shots of a very pretty Danish blonde. The method of re-evaluating older issues and stories is obviously a filler, but it’s also an opportunity to re-assess the content, and sometimes there’s a new emphasis with clearer photos or one’s rejected from the original magazine.
